Job description

Ifย you'reย someone who gets excitedย byย making an impactย through interesting challenges,ย you'llย feel right at home.ย ย IEM is currently seeking a Production Planner for our Jacksonville, FL location, reporting to the Production Planning Manager. The Production Planner is responsible for translating customer demand and forecast requirements into executable production plans that align with material availability and manufacturing capacity. This role focuses on mid- to long-term planning, capacity alignment, and cross-functional coordination to support efficient manufacturing operations and on-time delivery, leveraging ERP tools to drive data-based decisions.

Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence at our Jacksonville offices and does not offer remote work.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Coordination

  • Develop and maintain production plans based on customer demand, forecast data, material readiness, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Review customer orders and demand signals to validate production requirements and alignment with established lead times.
  • Collaborate with Production, Fabrication, and Engineering teams to ensure production plans are feasible and aligned with available resources.
  • Partner with stakeholders to support resolution of demand changes, material constraints, or capacity limitations.
  • Utilize ERP systems (INFOR preferred) to analyze demand, plan production requirements, and support manufacturing execution.

Capacity & Material Planning

  • Analyze labor, equipment, and material capacity to identify constraints and support informed production planning decisions.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Materials Planning to ensure material strategies support production plans.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning meetings to align demand, capacity, and material availability across departments.
  • Support long-range and medium-range capacity planning initiatives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy, reduce lead times, and enhance overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives such as Kanban systems, visual management, and standardized planning processes.
  • Support continuous improvement of ERP planning tools, data accuracy, and reporting practices.

Cross-Functional Communication

  • Act as a key planning liaison between production, materials, supply chain, engineering, and customer service teams.
  • Communicate potential capacity, material, or delivery risks to the Production Planning Manager in a timely manner.
  • Support cross-functional alignment when changes occur due to demand shifts, design updates, or supply disruptions.
  • The candidate will be expected to perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and organizationย 

Qualifications:ย ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • 3-7 years of experience in production planning or manufacturing planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (INFOR preferred).
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and capacity planning concepts.
  • Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Compensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
