Job Description

Are you a mechanically inclined Machine Operator who takes pride in owning your equipment and delivering quality work? Avery Dennison is looking for a dependable team player to lead machine setups, monitor precise production sequences, and keep our manufacturing line running smoothly.

In this role, you won't just push buttons—you’ll understand how the machine works, troubleshoot root causes when issues arise, and help us produce defect-free products for our customers.

Ideal candidates must be able and flexible to work one of the assigned shifts.

The shift schedules are as follows:

  • 2nd shift (2 pm-10 pm) 
  • 3rd shift (10 pm-6 am) 

Hourly Rate

The starting wage for Finishing & Coating Operators is $22.47/hr + $2/hr. shift differential for 2nd and 3rd Shift.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Machine Operation: Perform routine setups, changeovers, and equipment adjustments to run orders to exact specification.

  • Quality & Precision: Monitor gauges, meters, and standard measuring tools (tape measures) to catch abnormalities before they create waste.

  • Logistics & Material Handling: Operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts/heavy equipment) to load, move, and ship materials.

  • Problem Solving & Care: Maintain inventory accuracy, conduct cycle counts, and investigate mechanical issues to identify root causes.

  • Team Collaboration: Step outside daily tasks to support teammates, participate in continuous improvement, and keep the facility safe and efficient

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instruction
  • Must prioritize safety in every aspect of the working environment adhering to established safety practices, policies, and procedures
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests
  • Keen attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Physical Requirements:

  • Movement: May require the ability to stand/walk for up to 80% of your shift, with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and squatting 50% of the time.
  • Lifting: May require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds 50% of your shift.
  • Environment: May require being comfortable working in an environment with varying temperatures
