DESCRIPTION
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall performance, efficiency, and profitability of the facility. This role provides leadership across production, quality, safety, supply chain, and maintenance to ensure seamless operations that align with company goals. The Operations Manager is a key member of the site leadership team, accountable for driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and scalable growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead day-to-day operations across production, scheduling, maintenance, quality, and logistics to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that support business growth, cost efficiency, and productivity improvements.
  • Monitor facility KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement) and ensure performance meets or exceeds targets.
  • Partner with the Quality department to maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 certifications and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements, fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Optimize resource planning, staffing levels, and workflow across departments to ensure capacity aligns with demand.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S) to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Manage budgets, control operational costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with HR on talent acquisition, training, performance management, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Partner with executive leadership on long-term strategic planning, capital investment projects, and scaling operations.
  • Act as a visible and hands-on leader, ensuring clear communication and alignment across all levels of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 7โ€“10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations or manufacturing management, preferably in surface coating, finishing, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams and scaling operations in a high-growth manufacturing environment.
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and operational performance metrics.
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency with ERP and HCM systems for scheduling, reporting, and workforce management.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards, with prior experience leading compliance efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, implement process improvements, and build high-performing teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid knowledge of workplace safety standards and regulatory compliance (OSHA, environmental, etc.).
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work is performed primarily in an office setting with regular presence on the production floor.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and monitoring of facility operations across multiple departments.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, or lifting items up to 25 pounds in support of operational activities.
  • Flexibility in scheduling with the ability to work extended hours or weekends based on business needs.
  • Regular interaction with employees, customers, vendors, and cross-functional leadership teams.
