Job Description:

We are seeking a Production Operations Manager to lead operational execution across a growing engineered-to-order business. This role is responsible for ensuring projects move efficiently from customer purchase order through final shipment by coordinating engineering, purchasing, warehouse, assembly, quality, and testing activities.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex scheduling and resource challenges, and has a passion for improving systems, increasing accountability, and delivering projects on time.


Responsibilities:

  • Own operational execution from customer purchase order through final shipment
  • Lead and develop a team of four Project Managers while establishing priorities and accountability
  • Coordinate engineering, purchasing, warehouse, assembly, quality, and testing teams to ensure projects remain on schedule
  • Develop production schedules and capacity plans while balancing workloads across multiple assembly operations
  • Ensure material availability and proactively address supply chain constraints that could impact production schedules
  • Implement Gantt chart scheduling and improve production planning processes
  • Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks while driving Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor project progress, resource utilization, and operational performance metrics
  • Partner with leadership to improve workflow visibility, communication, and execution across the organization


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading production, operations, project management, or manufacturing teams
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in an engineered-to-order, industrial equipment, automation, robotics, hydraulics, motion control, control panel, electrical assembly, material handling, or OEM assembly environment
  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, and operational planning
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and improving operational performance
  • Experience implementing Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands while maintaining a high level of customer service and operational execution
