Assistant Production Manager - Clayton Sacramento

Reports to: Production Manager

Department: Management

Job Status: Full-Time / Salary

Position Summary: The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of all production departments. The Assistant Production Manager will provide constant communication, feedback and recognition to team members and production leaders to enable a positive team member experience and develop a world class culture in line with our company values.

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • The Assistant Production Manager, under the direction of the Production Manager, will be responsible for the following duties/responsibilities:
    • Ability to lead large groups of people and focus on developing a culture of accountability working as a team
    • Strict adherence and compliance with quality assurance requirements to include HUD building codes
    • Be safety minded and ability to put Safety 1st - must adhere to strict safety rules and guidelines
    • Reviewing production performance and identifying training opportunities of production personnel as necessary
    • Direct teams effectively in each department to ensure timelines and production priorities are met
    • Provide sound leadership, coaching, mentoring, and direction for personnel development
    • Improve production processes for the purpose of improving overall quality, reducing lead-times, and lowering costs of operations by utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods, 6S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, etc. applications where necessary
    • Lead, guide and direct department leaders
    • Partner with TMX as needed on team member initiatives
    • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/college degree preferred
  • Minimum 4-5 years relevant management experience
  • Previous construction experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in manufactured housing is greatly desired
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
  • Fluent in Spanish preferred (30%+ of the plant is Spanish speaking)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic math skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and can multi-task effectively
  • Ability to read and understand home building specifications greatly desired
  • Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols
  • Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a changing, fast-paced work environment
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.
  • Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
  • Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.
Travel Requirements:
  • As Needed for plant training, conferences or other Clayton events
Salary:
  • 85-90k base salary and various bonus program(s) eligibility
