WPL Supervisor/Plant Scheduler
At Pilgrim's, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first - always.
In this critical leadership role, you will oversee both production planning and frontline operations within our poultry production facility in Cold Spring, MN. You will be responsible for developing and managing daily production schedules, ensuring order fulfillment, and leading production floor teams to meet safety, quality, and efficiency targets. Working closely with plant operations and sales, you will align operational capabilities with business needs while driving continuous improvement and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and team member engagement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create, approve, and manage daily production schedules by shift, accounting for feature ad activity, bird size, raw material availability, labor availability, absenteeism, and market conditions.
  • Develop daily run sheets to maximize short- and long-term profitability while ensuring schedule adherence and efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Lead and oversee production floor operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety expectations are consistently met.
  • Organize and coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to support efficient operations across shifts.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to employees to support productivity, quality, and professional growth.
  • Encourage open communication and employee involvement to promote team morale, accountability, and alignment with company values.
  • Collaborate daily with operations, quality, and sales teams to ensure production capabilities align with order requirements and customer demand.
  • Own order fulfillment, line efficiency, and daily inventory reconciliation to minimize waste, prevent spoilage, and eliminate shortages or bottlenecks.
  • Spend regular time on the production floor to understand workflows, equipment capabilities, process constraints, and real-time operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and quality regulations while promoting a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to operational challenges, making independent decisions as needed to maintain productivity and safety.
  • Maintain availability outside normal business hours as required by production needs.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the Plant Operations Team.

What You'll Need
  • Education: High school Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferred; Master's degree a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in production planning, manufacturing, or operations leadership preferred; supervisory experience leading teams of 20+ employees is a plus. Food or poultry processing environment experience preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Proven leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution abilities
    • Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills; advanced Excel preferred
    • Basic computer proficiency required; SAP knowledge and statistical analysis experience a plus
