Job Summary

As Device Subscription Product Manager, you own Moultrieโ€™s cellular data-plan business: the subscriptions that connect customers to their land. You run a critical, mature business that grows through retention and optimization more-so than new features, marketing, or hype. You own pricing, entitlement strategy, churn strategy, and the retention forecast and the related KPIs.

You will lead a team of product owners covering camera-derived intelligence, the onboarding funnel, and retention, and your team is accountable for matching subscription with value so that customers stay engaged.

Job Responsibilities
  • Own, clarify and share the Voice of the Customer (VOC) and lead the org by effectively conveying the voice of the customer through artifacts and ceremonies.
  • Own, monitor, and drive the KPIs that drive your business: ARPD, ADPU, WAU, Data Plan NPS, Retention and Churn Rates, and Seasonality Reduction.
  • Run your monthly business review.
  • Build and maintain the pricing and financial models behind data plan strategy, and gain consensus from leadership. 
  • Develop and maintain the data plan subscription roadmap that achieves the companyโ€™s goals.
  • Relentlessly prioritize the development that provides the greatest customer value.
  • Decompose churn by cause and design the product response to each. 
  • Run pricing and positioning experiments and research, including entitlement changes across plan tiers to determine which offers appeal to customers
  • Own the data-plan revenue forecast jointly with Finance and participate in monthly R&O.
  • Lead two to three product owners: empower them to own their KPIs, scopes, and align their strategic thinking. 
  • Contribute to strategic planning and development of the product. 
  • Partner with UX, Research, Data Science, SW Team(s), and Marketing and CS to implement, launch, and support cutting-edge solutions.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree Business, Economics, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, or Computer Science or related field (in lieu of degree we will consider candidates with equitable years of professional work experience) 
  • A minimum of five (5) years total related experience with a preference towards subscription and service businesses
    • 3+ years in product management (preferably as a product manager) or working in strategic analysis and planning 
    • 2+ years of researching and generating business cases and proposals that can be converted into well-articulated and valuable deliverables  
    • 2+ years of experience working within an agile-lean software product development method, such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience where a subscription is tied to a physical device
  • Experience in mobile app subscription flows on iOS and Android
  • Expertise in at least one project management tool such as JIRA or Azure Dev Ops
  • Expertise in at least one design collaboration tool such as Whimsical or Figma
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework and/or Agile Release Trains
  • A background in, and product knowledge of the hunting, fishing, or outdoor sporting goods market
  • Experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A
