Job description

PABCO® Gypsum, a division of PABCO® Building Products LLC, has provided quality gypsum board products and service for over 35 years. PABCO® Gypsum supplies a complete line of gypsum products for commercial and residential construction.
Production Operator
The Newark, CA plant is currently accepting resumes for a Production Operator. Your primary role is to operate and provide basic maintenance of our machines to manufacture the finished product and housekeeping of facility.
What is the Job?
  • Complete entry level training (basic production skills, inspections, and learning product and equipment terminology).
  • Operate forklift (conduct pre-use inspections; adjusting or switching different fork types).
  • Provides additional assistance during equipment failures.
  • Assist with 'maintenance down days' and startup of production line procedures.
  • Assists in general housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • All other tasks and/or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Lift and/or move 60 pounds and more.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role.
  • Ability to work in dusty conditions.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Due to safety regulation and legal requirements for this postion, candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

What is the Pay?
  • Starting pay is $30.20 per hour.
  • There are Shift Differentials: Swing Shift: +$0.75/hour, Grave Shift: +$1.00/hour.

What is the Work Schedule?
  • Must be able to work a weekly rotating schedule: 1 week on Day Shift, 1 week on Grave Shift, 1 week on Swing Shift.
  • Weekend availability must be open.
  • Required flexibility with schedule as it might change with the business need.
