Production Line Assistant Jobs in Ohio (NOW HIRING)

This role supports a high-volume production manufacturing environment focused on plastic extrusion and CNC operations. You will oversee the production of plastic parts, monitor and support CNC and related machinery, and ensure products meet quality and order requirements. The position involves hands-on work on the production line, including measuring, organizing, stacking, and palletizing parts while maintaining accurate production and order records.

• Monitor CNC and related production machinery to ensure consistent and efficient production of plastic parts.
• Oversee the production of plastic parts in a manufacturing setting, ensuring orders run according to specifications.
• Legibly write and record production and order information, including tracking order details throughout the shift.
• Pull part tickets as needed for current and previous production runs to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
• Organize, stack, and palletize parts in an orderly and safe manner to support efficient material flow.
• Use rulers, tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools to verify part dimensions and ensure accuracy.
• Perform quality checks on parts hourly or as needed, identifying defects and escalating issues when necessary.
• Keep parts organized at workstations and staging areas to maintain a clean and efficient production line.
• Walk up and down short flights of stairs (approximately three steps) to load hoppers and support extrusion operations.
• Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times per shift to handle materials, parts, and finished products.
• Assist with line setup, basic machine operation, and adjustments to support continuous production.
• Perform general labor tasks such as cleaning work areas, supporting line assembly, and assisting with warehouse packing.
• Work independently or as part of a team while staying on task and maintaining a steady production pace.
• Support extrusion, extrusion operation, or fabrication operation as assigned based on production needs.

• At least 2+ years of manufacturing experience with CNC equipment.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to pass a math, ruler, and measuring test with a score of at least 90%.
• Comfort lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times per shift.
• Ability to perform consistent quality checks and maintain quality standards.
• Experience in general production, assembly, packaging, or production line work.
• Basic machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment while staying focused and on task.

• Previous experience operating machines in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Background in plastic extrusion, injection molding, or related plastic manufacturing processes.
• Experience with quality checks, quality control, inspection, and line setup.
• Exposure to extrusion operation, line assembly, and fabrication operations.
• Experience with warehouse packing and general labor in a production environment.
• Familiarity with cleaning and maintaining a tidy production or plant floor environment.
• Comfort working with heavy lifting, line production, and machine operation.
• Experience using rulers, tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices in a production setting.

This position is based in a plastic extrusion facility, where experience with injection molding is also valuable. The plant floor is older but maintained in a very clean condition, reflecting a strong focus on organization and housekeeping. The facility has recently expanded to include three new extrusion lines and a larger warehouse and parts staging area, supporting increased production capacity. You may be assigned to extrusion, extrusion operation, or fabrication operation depending on skills and production needs. The role operates on a multi-shift schedule, with 1st shift running from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., 2nd shift from 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., and 3rd shift from 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. Production wages vary by shift, with additional pay for CNC responsibilities. The work involves regular use of rulers, tape measures, calipers, hand tools, and power tools, as well as frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and climbing a short set of stairs to load hoppers. Steel-toe footwear is required as part of the safety-focused dress code.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterville, OH.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
