Job description

Cometic Gasket, Inc., is a leading worldwide supplier of gaskets and engine sealing solutions for the Automotive Performance, Powersports, Original Equipment, and Remanufactured Engine Industries. We are looking for an energetic new hire to join our team as an Automotive Product Line Manager. Cometic Gasket, Inc is an organization that takes pride in high-quality performance, innovation, and work ethic.   


Job Summary:

Responsible for overseeing all activities relating to the success of Cometic’s automotive gasket line. Oversee a vast product portfolio by working with sales, engineering, and operations to ensure the product line meets customer expectations and company goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning: Develop the product line strategy and guide decisions on pricing, target customers, and market segment penetration and expansion.
  • Product development: Work with Sales and Engineering to develop new products, validate and qualify outsourcing initiatives, and ensure technical excellence.
  • Market analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis for brand and production positioning and competitiveness within applicable markets.
  • ·Performance monitoring: Track and monitor KPIs within the automotive segment
  • Marketing and sales: Create and execute marketing, including new product release newsletters, annual printed catalogs, and targeted special programs.
  • Product Data: Work with our in-house data team to compile, create, and maintain product datasets in our internal database and website as well as for outside distribution.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong automotive application knowledge is a must.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
  • Light travel required (customer visits and tradeshows estimated 2-8 times per year).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 with heavy Microsoft Excel usage.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor's degree would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with aftermarket application databases with ACES and PIES information.
