Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine QA/QC testing of inbound raw material chemicals and plant production batches at one of our clients. This role also supports internal and external technical service projects, laboratory data organization, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Monday–Friday, 8AM–4PM

Pay: based on experience $18.00-$22.00hr

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance testing for drilling fluid additives including rheology modifiers, filtrate control products, loss circulation materials, lubricants, and other specialty categories
  • Conduct physical and chemical tests on oilfield chemicals using internal test procedures and reference methods (ASTM, API, etc.)
  • Track and organize inbound laboratory samples; replenish lab stock chemical inventory as needed
  • Write test reports, generate Certificates of Analysis (COA), and maintain quality records database
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and calibration records
  • Prepare standard stock solutions and assist in purchasing lab consumables
  • Prepare and ship samples to internal and external customers with proper labeling and recordkeeping
  • Maintain written and electronic laboratory records and a clean, organized work area
  • Provide assistance to plant management and sales personnel on quality and technical service activities


Qualifications

  • BS in Chemistry or a related science, OR 2+ years of laboratory experience
  • Basic knowledge of oilfield drilling fluid chemicals and their functionality preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
