Job description

What your day looks like

You own the flow. As the supervisor guiding our casting and foundry operations, you make sure every component moves through the plant accurately and on time. You start by reviewing Shop Floor Manager (SFM) and ERP data, resolving any mismatches in transactions, quantities, and locations. With the schedule updated, production teams have clear visibility to every component tied to each manufacturing order (MO).

Throughout the shift, you orchestrate seamless handoffs between departments, keep WIP controlled, and turn data into action through daily work progress summaries, transaction reports, cycle counts, and open MO reporting. You act as the shop floor liaison to Purchasing—reviewing material status, setting replenishment quantities, and establishing milk runs for floor stock items. You constantly scan for material-flow improvements, applying safety stock strategies and Kanban to remove friction. And when ad hoc projects arise, you dive into analysis to sustain and improve our processes.

Core responsibilities
  • Ensure materials move smoothly between manufacturing departments.
  • Publish daily work progress, transaction, cycle count, and open MO reports.
  • Maintain strict control of work-in-process (WIP).
  • Reconcile SFM and ERP transactions, quantities, and locations.
  • Identify floor stock items, create replenishment processes, and set up milk runs.
  • Serve as shop floor liaison to support Purchasing with material reviews and replenishment quantities.
  • Drive material-flow improvements using safety stock and Kanban methods.
  • Keep production schedules current so teams can see all MO-related components in real time.
  • Execute ad hoc projects and analysis as needed.
What you bring
  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience); Associate’s in Operations is a plus.
  • Background in discrete manufacturing environments.
  • Strong process discipline paired with data analysis capability.
  • Sound judgment with a track record of sustaining newly implemented processes.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, improvement-minded, and results oriented.
  • Clear, respectful communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic).
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Great Plains ERP; familiarity with MES for labor and material transactions; strong MS Office skills; MS Dynamics 365 exposure is a plus.
Preferred proficiencies
  • Leadership / People Management
  • Language: Spanish
  • Supervisory Experience
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)
  • Warehouse Experience
  • Workers’ Compensation
  • ISO 9001 Certification Experience
  • Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Workplace Safety & EHS Management
  • Foundry Environment Experience
