Role Summary
The Production Floor Superintendent is responsible for leading and optimizing production operations to ensure high productivity, quality, and safety standards. This role oversees daily manufacturing processes, workforce allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role you will be pivotal in maintaining a level of customer service that exceeds industry standards
Reporting directly to the Production Engineer, the ideal candidate will have a strong leadership background in manufacturing, a hands-on approach, and a passion for developing people and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership & Efficiency
  • Maintain a healthy level of productivity, ensuring =95% of worked hours are productive.
  • Utilize the Productivity to monitor, manage, and improve team productivity.
  • Allocate people resources based on production schedules, ensuring optimal labor utilization.
  • Plan weekly production schedules, coordinating product changes and logistics to improve efficiency.
  • Identify and implement Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and optimize processes.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects, focusing on safety, efficiency, cost reduction, and quality.

Team Development & Coaching
  • Provide training, coaching, and feedback to develop a high-performing production team.
  • Ensure all team members receive clear, written expectations of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Conduct scorecard, daily safety/quality/production meetings, and hourly productivity walks.
  • Track and manage attendance, approving PTO and providing coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action as needed.

Facility & Workflow Management
  • Ensure daily housekeeping priorities are met to maintain a safe and organized facility.
  • Coordinate manufacturing floor mold organization, mapping out processes for optimal mold utilization.
  • Work closely with Quality, Transportation, and Inventory Management to streamline product movement through the production process.

Safety & Compliance
  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct hourly safety walks to reinforce best practices and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure full participation in safety programs and housekeeping initiatives.

Key Results
  • Productivity Improvement: Increase productivity to =95% of worked hours.
  • Team Development: Build a high-performing team with clearly defined expectations and ongoing coaching.
  • Operational Efficiency: Incorporate Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve processes.
  • Safety & Compliance: Achieve 100% team participation in safety programs, productivity tracking, and housekeeping initiatives.
  • Facility Organization: Maintain a clean and organized production floor, prioritizing efficiency and workflow optimization.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial production leadership role.
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, process engineering, manufacturing scheduling, logistics, and workforce management.
  • Experience in precast concrete, construction materials, or related manufacturing industries is a plus.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements, increasing productivity, and developing teams.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and develop production teams.
  • Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements based on key performance indicators.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of leading meetings and coordinating with other departments.
  • Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
