JOB SUMMARY

East West Manufacturing is looking for a seasoned product leader to define, build, and accelerate the future of our Electric Motors portfolio.

This is a high-impact, highly visible role at the intersection of technology, strategy, and commercial execution. The ideal candidate will own the long-term product and market strategy for our motors business while simultaneously driving near-term growth through sharp customer engagement, portfolio positioning, and cross-functional leadership.

Working closely with executive leadership, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and business development, you will transform customer insights, market intelligence, and emerging technology trends into differentiated product platforms โ€” platforms that leverage East West\'s global engineering and manufacturing capabilities to win in competitive markets.

This is a rare opportunity to shape an entire product portfolio from the ground up, influence where the company invests, and create meaningful, lasting enterprise value. If you are a technically fluent, commercially driven product leader who thrives at the intersection of engineering depth and business strategy โ€” and who is energized by building something significant โ€” this role was designed for you.

RESPONSIBILITIESProduct Strategy & Portfolio Leadership
  • Develop and execute the long-term portfolio strategy for East West's Electric Motors business, evaluating market opportunities and identifying attractive segments, applications, and adjacent technologies
  • Define product roadmaps that balance customer demand, profitability, manufacturability, and strategic differentiation
  • Identify portfolio gaps and recommend new products, platforms, acquisitions, or partnerships to address them
  • Drive lifecycle management across existing products while expanding into new markets and prioritizing investments based on market opportunity and customer value
Market & Customer Strategy
  • Serve as the voice of the customer across the organization, leading discovery efforts to uncover unmet needs, purchasing behavior, competitive alternatives, and emerging trends
  • Translate customer insights into actionable product strategies, including segmentation, positioning, pricing, and go-to-market recommendations
  • Build compelling value propositions for targeted industries and applications, with clear competitive positioning against key alternatives
  • Establish a repeatable Voice of Customer process to continuously inform portfolio and roadmap decisions
Customer Engagement
  • Engage directly with OEM engineering, sourcing, and executive teams to lead technical and business discussions around motor applications, system architecture, cost optimization, and supply chain strategy
  • Identify both near-term commercial opportunities and longer-term platform opportunities within strategic accounts
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with key customers to deepen partnerships and expand engagement
Commercial Growth
  • Provide technical and commercial leadership throughout the sales pursuit process, supporting opportunity qualification, prioritization, and closing
  • Develop business cases for new products and investments, improving portfolio profitability through pricing, positioning, and product mix optimization
  • Improve commercial win rates through stronger product positioning and differentiated value propositions
  • Deliver actionable product roadmaps aligned with business objectives and identify new platform opportunities capable of driving long-term revenue growth
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar technical discipline)
  • 10+ years of experience in electric motors, motion systems, or electromechanical products
  • Proven track record managing industrial or electromechanical products across the full product lifecycle
  • Strong foundation in product management, product strategy, or business line management, including pricing, margins, manufacturing costs, and commercial strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer insights into market-winning products and influence engineering roadmaps accordingly
  • Direct experience working with OEM customers across HVAC, refrigeration, pumps, food equipment, automation, material handling, medical, appliances, and robotics
  • Deep expertise across electric motor technologies โ€” EC, BLDC, Permanent Magnet, Axial Flux, PSC, Shaded Pole, Universal, Induction, Fractional HP, and PCB Stator
  • Bilingual in engineering & business โ€” equally fluent discussing magnetic flux density with engineers and strategic growth with executives; analytical yet pragmatic
  • Thrives in ambiguity โ€” operates effectively without formal authority, balancing long-term platform strategy with near-term commercial execution
  • Passionate product builder โ€” customer-obsessed and driven to create sustainable competitive advantage through innovative motor solutions
