The Mechanical Applications engineer will work alongside other bid team members to design, price, and propose opportunities to our customers. This role will be responsible for among other things, concepting and manifests required to bid integration and products.

Your Role in Our Team

  • Create concepts and manifests within the scope of customer requirements as outlined in their RFP within the timeframe given by our customers
  • Support bid development process from receipt of RFP to submission of proposal, including aiding the creation of RFQ packages for vendors and writing technical SOW for proposal
  • Demonstrate a strong expertise in material handling system design, equipment technology, and operational process
  • Lead design effort based on client's request for the material handling system(s) using their data or working through their requirements to create system solutions solving client issues, enhancing processing efficiency and supporting end user requirements
  • Provide technical expertise during sales phase showcasing Korber's capability to develop industry leading solutions and build trust with clients
  • Support multiple client projects with a range of $100K - $250M
  • Conduct external meetings with clients as required
  • Conduct internal meetings with clients as required
  • Create / Utilize / Explain, Material Flow Calculator that develops the Basis of Design (BOD)
  • Be a subject matter expert on various types of material handling equipment in the market to ensure the best possible solution
  • Work with client to create weighted Selection Criteria Matrix driving optimal solution selections for end users and Korber
  • Create Process Flow Diagrams

Your Profile

  • Ability to understand core customer's specifications
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and Navisworks for layouts, system concepts, and design modifications, modeling and drafting
  • Experience designing, configuring, and supporting mechanical systems for industrial, automation, conveyor, robotics, or intralogistics applications
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and bills of materials
  • Understanding of system integration, including interfaces between mechanical, electrical, controls, and software components
  • Familiarity with engineering standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices
  • Experience working directly with customers, sales teams, and crossfunctional stakeholders to support presales and postsales activities
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Strong collaboration skills when working with sales, project management, manufacturing, and service teams
  • Resultsoriented mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction and solution quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare technical documentation, proposals, presentations, and application notes

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering or application engineering roles within industrial, automation, material handling, or supply chain solutions environments
  • Demonstrated experience supporting customerspecific mechanical solutions, including system design, configuration, and technical feasibility assessments
  • Prior experience working in presales, application engineering, or solution development in collaboration with sales and project teams
  • Handson experience with industrial systems such as conveyors, automated material handling systems, robotics, or intralogistics solutions strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting projects across the full lifecycle, from concept development and proposal support through implementation and commissioning
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment preferred

  • Travel - 25%
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required by business needs
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, all required travel documentation, including a valid passport where international travel is necessary
  • Must be able to lawfully enter and exit the United States and other countries required for business travel
  • Must not have any legal or regulatory restrictions that would prevent the issuance, renewal, or use of required travel documents, or otherwise limit the ability to fulfill the travel requirements of the role
