Position Title: Production Coordinator            

Reporting into Title: Production Supervisor/Manager

Position Purpose/Summary: The Production Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to assist in operating equipment and ensuring correct and accurate machine operation.

Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables

An individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

All duties as assigned and the following specific activities.

  • Enforce Hazardous Material Handling Procedures and oversee Initial and Annual Training
  • Assist in operating the equipment and ensuring correct and accurate fill weights and machine operation consistency.
  • Oversee the filling line process ensuring proper labeler, capper, torque, box taper operation and all other mechanical line stations (minimum of 2 production lines.)
  • Ensure proper line staffing to execute filling and packaging successfully.
  • Review Bill of Material to assure correct components and product.
  • Ensure accurate staging of material and work with jeep driver to assure component quantities versus solution yield.
  • Assist in other areas of the filling line as needed
  • Scan commodities to work order as needed.
  • Review accuracy and completeness of paperwork prior to shift end.
  • Contact and expedite additional mechanical assistance if needed.
  • Report any work-related performance issues with any team member(s)
  • Report to work 15 minutes before the start of the shift for a production line update and overlap with the previous shift line leader.
  • Stay 15 minutes after the end of the shift for a production update and overlap with the incoming shift line leader.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and conscientious manner demonstrating leadership.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or situations and communicate with associates on unsafe, rude, inappropriate conduct and report to Supervisor if needed.
  • Manage the line team work during downtime and rework jobs.
  • Document any relevant downtime and other issues on the production reports.
  • Update production boards every hour and clear board at end of shift.
  • Document “Line in Changeover” on the production boards as needed.
  • Work to maximize line efficiency and rates without compromising quality.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work line at all times.

  • Displays efficient time management skills by updating production boards and all required paperwork in a timely manner while successfully accomplishing addition job tasks.

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities 

Education: High School Degree or GED Equivalent

Experience (years and topics):

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisor role
  • Minimum of 4 years working in a manufacturing environment

Technology/Software:

  • Moderate PC and ERP capabilities

Communication:       

  • Communication skills in both English and Spanish (2nd Spanish preferred)
  • Strong motivating and team building skills (mentoring and coaching)

Physical Capabilities

Strength:

  • Must be able to regularly lift 55 lbs.

Movement:

  • Must be able to stand / walk for an entire eight hour shift. Occasional bending, crouching, and crawling

Hearing:

  • Must be able to hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment

Vision:

  • Must be able to judge distance, identify details, and view computer screen regularly
