Position Overview:
As our Quality Control Supervisor, you will lead and oversee daily shop operations to ensure all products meet company and customer quality standards in a safe and cost-effective manner. You will supervise production personnel, promote a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement by addressing performance issues, investigating incidents, conducting safety meetings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and interpret inspection standards.

Your Day to Day as a Quality Control Supervisor:    

Supervision and Work Schedule

  • Ensure that Inspectors work safely and efficiently and in compliance with company safety regulations.
  • Maintain discipline and monitor performance of employees.
  • Schedule manpower assignments to ensure productivity.
  • Manage shop personnel according to collective agreement and maintain a professional relationship with employees.
  • Manage attendance, time, and vacation of shop personnel and able to perform manual computer inputting to verify employee statuses.
  • Provide coaching and issue discipline, as needed.

Quality Control

  • Assist Inspectors with interpretation of drawings, procedures, and accept/reject criteria and methods of inspection.
  • Responsible for Shop originated NR's, CR's, CAR's, and Shop quality system and audits.
  • Ensure that inspection reports issued are complete and accurate.
  • Inform manufacturing supervision and department managers of quality issues.
  • Make decisions on acceptability of quality related conditions.
  • Develop new operating, and quality control procedures.

Safety Compliance

  • Evaluate and eliminate unsafe conditions and conduct safety meetings.
  • Perform accident investigations with JHSC and EHS as required, ensure personal protective equipment is in place as well as train employees on the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Conduct safe observations through the Dupont Safety Observation Program.

Training

  • Conduct training sessions for Inspectors in understanding procedures, safety related information.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • College diploma (Technical, welding technician, fabrication) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7-10 years' experience in manufacturing/quality control environment, preferably at a supervisory level.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $85,000 and $126,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
