Job description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Production Coordinator/Planner. This position is located in the city of Guelph. This role may require commuting between two plants. You will be working on days. The Production Coordinator / Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, customer requirements, and delivery schedules are achieved efficiently and accurately. This role works closely with production, engineering, procurement, quality, inventory, and shipping teams to maintain workflow, resolve production issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Rate of pay is $26-$28/hr, based on experience. With the possibility of advancement. Responsibilities Duties: - Monitor, analyze, and report on manufacturing KPIs including on-time delivery, production output, labor efficiency, downtime, scrap, cycle time, and schedule attainment to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement. - Create, release, and manage manufacturing work orders within the ERP/MRP system, ensuring all production data, material allocations, and routing information remain accurate and up to date. - Maintain and verify Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing routers, and production documentation while coordinating required updates with engineering and operations teams. - Prepare and present detailed production and operational reports for management, analyzing trends, capacity utilization, workflow performance, and production efficiency. Expedite critical production orders and communicate schedule changes or delays to production, customer service, sales, and management teams as required. - Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure products meet specifications and that non- conformance issues are documented and resolved in a timely manner. Requirements: 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, or coordination role. - Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. - Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing production demands. - Strong analytical and reporting capabilities with attention to detail. Preferred Experience - Experience using ERP/MRP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central an asset. - Experience in automotive, aerospace, metal fabrication, or custom manufacturing environments. Advanced Microsoft Excel and production reporting experience. - Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
