The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Coordinates and monitors Patient Transportation services activities through timely, accurate dispatch and management of customer transportation requests.

The Dispatcher ensures effective communication between departments, transport staff, patients, and visitors while maintaining excellent customer service and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required,

Experience

  • Previous dispatching, transportation coordination, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer and dispatch system knowledge
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills

Scheduling Requirements

  • Part Time Evening
  • Hours: 3:00PM 11:30PM
  • Every other weekend and holiday
  • Days to work varies

Essential Responsibilities

Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one-on-one attention to detail,

Understands and applies knowledge of basic patient transport concepts, infection control practices and proper body mechanics

Determines, explains and develops dispatcher logic and transporter activities

Transports patients when necessary

Directs the activity of the transport function and transporters, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Monitors procedures related to transporter availability and task completion, and follows up on issues related to service and operations.

Ensures requests have been addressed in an efficient and timely manner according to departmental standards, priorities, and patient appointments

Serves as a liaison between Patient Transportation and other hospital departments

Assigns, collects and distributes devices and monitors daily sign-in/sign-out procedures.

Develops and promotes positive customer service relationships with patients, patient family members, visitors and staff

Ensures accurate and timely dispatch of transport requests and promotes maximum staff productivity

Resolves problems related to patient, visitor, staff or employee complaints and recommends solutions for recurring issues.

Maintains professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions,

Participates in mandatory in-service, safety programs and departmental training,

Performs other duties as assigned
