Americold Refrigeration Consultants, operating as a Tech24 Company, is a leading provider of commercial and refrigeration service across all five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, and the Washington, DC metro area. Position Summary

The Dispatcher is the central hub of communication between the Customer and Technician. The position will require you to answer phone calls, and then communicate effectively with the necessary Technicians in response to the request. The Dispatcher ensures that the appropriate Technician is routed accurately to the correct location at the requested time; ensuring prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all Customers. The ideal Dispatcher must remain calm, clear, and in control at all times. The Dispatcher must be dependable and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment.

Duties:

  • Dispatches service jobs to the technician’s board.
  • Routs technician’s schedules.
  • Calls customers with appointment times.
  • Provides the highest level of service to the Customer.
  • Professionally communicates the service needed to Customers and Technicians.
  • Distributes calls in a way that maximizes company productivity but with a focus on good departmental fairness.
  • Establishes follow-ups with the department of any jobs that require a return visit.
  • Quickly and efficiently learns the dispatch software in the Company’s business system.
  • Provides positive interactions with our Technicians and the administrative staff.
  • Provides back up when the Branch Manager is out of the office.
  • Works rotational on-call as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED or the equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of dispatching experience.
  • Previous dispatching experience in the HVAC and/or food service industry is a plus.
  • Detailed, dependable and honest professional with the ability to type quickly and accurately.
  • Proficient customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to multitask is a must.
  • Must be motivated, a self-started, and able to follow through on duties and assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work rotational on-call as needed.

Compensation Transparency

The advertised pay range for this position is $28–$35 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, technical skills, and overall qualifications. Candidates with stronger mechanical experience, electrical troubleshooting ability, or prior equipment repair experience may be considered at the higher end of the range.
