Job description

Job Title: Production Operator

Job Description

This role supports the safe and efficient operation of extrusion and plastic molding equipment in a production environment. You will assist operators with machine setup and monitoring, handle materials throughout the production process, and help maintain product quality and a clean, organized work area.

Responsibilities

  • Assist operators in running extrusion and plastic molding machinery, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor equipment during operation to identify basic issues, irregularities, or malfunctions and promptly report them to staff.
  • Perform basic quality checks on raw plastic materials to ensure they meet required standards before production.
  • Inspect finished packaging rolls for visible defects and verify they meet basic quality specifications.
  • Handle and move stock, including loading and unloading materials from machines and designated storage areas.
  • Trim excess materials from finished products to ensure they meet required dimensions and appearance standards.
  • Clear and organize work areas by removing scrap, debris, and unused materials to maintain a safe and efficient production environment.
  • Follow production schedules and instructions to support continuous operation on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
  • Support general production tasks as needed, including basic machine operation and general labor duties.

Essential Skills

  • Experience or strong interest in production, general labor, or general production work.
  • Ability to assist with machine operation in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Capability to stand for long shifts in a factory environment.
  • Ability to lift factory materials safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Willingness to work a 2-2-3 rotating schedule (Saturday–Monday, then Tuesday–Wednesday, then Thursday–Friday).
  • Flexibility to work either 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. shifts as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
