A growing medical device manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations and production personnel in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
This position is responsible for supervising production teams, ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance, meeting production schedules, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a positive, safety-focused workplace culture.
The ideal candidate will have prior manufacturing leadership experience, strong knowledge of quality systems and cleanroom operations, and a passion for developing high-performing teams.
Position Summary
The Production Supervisor provides daily leadership and oversight of manufacturing personnel to ensure the production of high-quality products while meeting operational, quality, safety, and delivery objectives.
This role is responsible for managing production staff, supporting new product introductions, driving continuous improvement efforts, maintaining compliance with quality standards, and ensuring efficient execution of production schedules.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Supervise production personnel and daily manufacturing activities
  • Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining quality and compliance standards
  • Lead teams in meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, QSR, ISO, and internal quality requirements
  • Monitor production metrics and utilize data to drive performance improvements
  • Manage employee attendance, timekeeping, staffing, and scheduling needs
  • Establish performance expectations and provide coaching, feedback, and recognition
  • Recruit, train, develop, and retain production personnel
  • Identify training needs and ensure employees are properly qualified
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency
  • Coordinate material, tooling, and supply requirements to support production goals
  • Collaborate with Planning, Quality, Engineering, and other departments to ensure operational success
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
  • Support new product introductions and process improvements
  • Create, review, and approve manufacturing documentation and change orders
  • Conduct performance evaluations and employee development planning
  • Maintain compliance with cleanroom requirements and environmental procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree, supervisor certification, or related education preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of Manufacturing Supervisor experience (medical device industry preferred)
  • 6+ years of manufacturing experience in a leadership role
  • Experience supervising employees in a production environment
Skills & Competencies
  • Experience with manufacturing ERP systems (QAD experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Quality System Regulations (QSR) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Experience working within a cleanroom manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and related software applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
