Block Hauler - Production Associate
Location: Byron Center, MI
Shift: 2nd Shift
Pay: $18.75 per hour
Job Summary
Are you a dependable and physically motivated individual looking for a hands-on manufacturing opportunity? We're seeking a Block Hauler - Production Associate to join our team in Byron Center, MI. In this role, you'll support production operations by transporting EPS blocks, assisting with cutting line functions, maintaining inventory accuracy, and helping ensure safe and efficient workflow throughout the facility.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Block Hauler - Production Associate, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Moving EPS blocks from storage areas to cutting stations using a manual transport system.
  • Pushing blocks weighing between 200–850 lbs. using transport equipment designed for easy movement.
  • Performing repetitive work involving approximately 50–75 block moves per shift.
  • Inspecting and safely operating block transport equipment while reporting any equipment concerns.
  • Following all safety procedures, traffic patterns, and hauling guidelines within the facility.
  • Locating and retrieving pre-selected blocks independently.
  • Reading block labels and verifying product quality and accuracy.
  • Rotating inventory and reporting damaged or missing blocks.
  • Assisting the Lead Cutter with grid changes, leveling, and basic wire placement.
  • Using tape measures for setup and verification tasks.
  • Supporting production by assisting with basic cutting line functions and helping maintain workflow.
  • Communicating with Lead Cutters and Supervisors regarding safety concerns, equipment issues, and block quality or availability.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
What We're Looking ForQualifications:
  • Manufacturing or construction experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical labor throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely push, pull, and maneuver large EPS blocks.
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 70 lbs. for grid changes using team lifting procedures when necessary.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
