Job Title: Production Supervisor

Department: Production

Reports To: General Manager

Supervises: Team Lead, Area Coordinator, Production Workers

Summary/Objectives: The Production supervisor will develop and implement the strategic direction for Pelco Solutions. This position supervises and coordinates all activities of workers responsible for production. Responsible for the performance management and hiring of employees for the facility. The production supervisor will oversee employee training and ensure that the employees meet acceptable performance standards. Plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in safety practices, production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Ensures effective employee relations. Provides timely employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Performs scheduled employee reviews. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution or disciplinary actions.
  • Balances safety, quality, productivity, cost, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality at assigned work location
  • Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to management.
  • Coordinates work with other departments, especially engineering, quality, and supply chain.
  • Tracks absenteeism and time-keeping.
  • Provides leadership through production planning process.
  • Maintains proper inventory levels,
  • Participate in accident investigations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • The Production Supervisor position is a working position which entails a combination of managerial duties as well as physical production responsibilities. The amount of production responsibilities will vary based on business requirements.

  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the production of goods.
  • Knowledge of, and familiarity with, ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.


Preferred:

  • Technical Education and some college.
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication equipment and processes.


Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations will be made to qualified individuals in accordance with applicable state and federal law.

  • Standing and walking for long periods of time. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Lifting up to 40lbs unassisted and occasionally lift and/or move heavier items utilizing a team lift.
  • Repetitive use of hands/motion and have manual dexterity, finger dexterity, and multi-limb coordination.
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, respirator mask, coveralls.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: This position requires both office and production environments. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, in office setting, to loud in production area. While performing the duties of this job in the production area, the associate works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit; stand; move around the plant, including climbing stairs or ladders; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The associate may be required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds individually or occasionally lift and/or move heavier items using a team lift.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Ability to bend, twist, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in warm conditions and around noise.
  • Must follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.).

Work Environment

  • Electronics manufacturing environment with exposure to soldering fumes, chemicals, and machine noise.
  • Use of PPE as required.
  • Fast-paced production setting with frequent interaction across departments.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-Time. Standard schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Overtime and schedule changes may be required to meet production demands.

*500.00 Sign on bonus for new employees to Pelco Solutions after 90 days.

Travel

Minimal travel expected for training or supplier support.
