PRODUCTION ASSEMBLY I, Royal Switchgear Manufacturing Company

RSMC is a leader in engineering, designing, and manufacturing critical componentry for electrical substations and the broader grid. Our pride lies in our long-standing partnership with utilities companies, the reliability of our products, and the technical and hands-on capabilities of our team.
The company is at an exciting inflection as we continue to expand our existing brand portfolio and deepen relationships with new and existing customers. Production Assembly I is responsible for mounting insulators to switch bases utilizing an impact driver, maneuvering products into the Group Ops area using an overhead crane for final assembly and for crating finished switches before shipment.
LOCATION: Fully Onsite - 4251 Turin Dr, Bessemer, AL 35020
COMPENSATION
  • Starting Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour
  • Weekly Production Bonus: Eligible employees can earn an additional $2.00 - $2.50 per hour for all hours worked in a week when production, quality, and on-time delivery targets are met. Bonus eligibility is determined by employment status at the time of payout.

WORK SCHEDULE
Monday - Thursday: 6am - 4:30pm
Friday: 6am - 2:30pm
Saturday (as needed): 6am - 11:30am
Candidates must be able to work up to 6 days per week with Saturdays scheduled on an as-needed basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Working under the direction of a group leader.
  • Responsible for continually maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Following written and verbal instructions.
  • Preparing and positioning parts for assembly, ensuring each component is fastened together correctly, and checking connections logging any discrepancies.
  • Assembling material components using both hand tools and power tools.
  • Performing required manufacturing processes while meeting all quality and production standards.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience utilizing tools to put together metal parts and components to create final products
  • Demonstrated dependable performance with consistent schedule adherence.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn additional processes and procedures while executing more complex tasks with precision.
  • Ability to learn all positions within each assembly line and willingness to assist in all areas to ensure production targets are met.
  • Ability to accurately read and utilize tape measures, fabrication blueprints, and assembly documentation.
  • Prior experience working in industrial manufacturing is preferred.
  • Ability to work in an environment that is not climate controlled.
  • Ability to work up to 6 days/week with Saturdays being on an as-needed basis.
