Job description

This is a fully remote position and we're considering candidates in the US EST.

About Product Management:
As a Product Manager at Grafana Labs, you'll develop a vision and strategy for your product domain. You will own your product's roadmap, collateral, and market research, and you will collaborate with Grafana leadership on fine-tuning your product's goals. You will be the primary advocate and expert in your area, with a strong ability to communicate needs, functionality, and details effectively both to external customers and internal stakeholders. The teams and people you will be interacting with will be 100% remote and globally distributed, so strong and proactive communication is essential.

Product Managers are the bridge that connect Engineering, Design, and UX to GTM. You are a facilitator who ensures the free flow of information across these teams and are expected to be technically proficient when representing our products to our customers.

The opportunity:

As the Product Manager for Performance Testing, you'll own the Grafana Cloud experience for performance testing, built around our k6 open-source project. You'll define how customers write, run, and act on performance tests across the software delivery lifecycle - ensuring Grafana Cloud k6 becomes the default choice for teams replacing legacy tools and adopting shift-left testing. The portfolio spans two surfaces: Grafana Cloud k6 (our commercial cloud product offering execution at scale from 21 global locations) and k6 OSS (the open-source CLI that anchors developer trust and community adoption).

As the PM, you'll define how test results integrate with Grafana Cloud's metrics, logs, and traces - turning a failed load test into a specific offending trace in seconds. You'll also evolve performance testing across modalities such as protocol, browser, and mobile". The focus is on delivering an integrated, opinionated cloud experience that customers want to pay for and stay with.

You'll also work across R&D to ensure Performance Testing is tightly woven into the broader Grafana Cloud suite - connecting with platforms like the Knowledge Graph and our core Cloud products, like Application Observability and Kubernetes Monitoring - so customers can seamlessly navigate between pre-production validation and production monitoring.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Transform ideas and feedback into a product vision and roadmap
  • Empathize with customer problems in order to collect user needs, requirements, and pain points
  • Curate and properly represent user feedback to Engineering, while providing evidence to support tradeoffs and priorities
  • Work closely with PMM to enable GTM on product differentiation, including creating and updating presentations, documentation, website content, datasheets, and whitepapers.
  • Use your deep product expertise to make decisions about our go-to-market strategies, pricing, packaging, licensing and tiering
What makes you a great fit:
  • A BS/BA in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management
  • 5+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS product
  • Experience using or building developer-facing tools, APIs, or platform services
  • Ability to discuss APIs, data models, schema evolution, and distributed systems concepts
  • Experience driving adoption of shared services or platform capabilities across multiple product teams
  • Experience working with Engineering and Design teams build delightful products and features - with sounds UX - in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with open source software and/or commercial open source companies
  • Experience using or building observability products and/or developer tools, either internally as an SRE or for external customers
  • Proficient with infrastructure concepts and components - like Kubernetes, Cloud Service Providers, and VMs - and able to articulate these models in human-readable terms
  • Experience with AI tools

In the United States, the base compensation range for this role is $162,275 - $194,730. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process. All of our roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving every team member ownership in Grafana Labs' success. We believe in shared outcomes-RSUs help us stay aligned and invested as we scale globally.
