What is a product strategy associate?

Product Strategy Associates are professionals who support the planning, development, and execution of a company’s product strategy. They analyze market trends, gather customer insights, and work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and improve products. Their role helps ensure that products align with business goals and meet customer needs. Product Strategy Associates often contribute to competitive analysis, go-to-market planning, and performance tracking to drive product success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a product strategy associate?

To thrive as a Product Strategy Associate, you need strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a relevant degree such as in business, economics, or a related field. Familiarity with data analytics tools (like Excel, SQL, or Tableau), market research platforms, and sometimes certifications in product management are highly valued. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills help you work effectively across teams and present strategic recommendations. These competencies are crucial for driving informed product decisions, aligning stakeholders, and achieving business objectives.

What are some common challenges faced by product strategy associates when collaborating with cross-functional teams?

A common challenge is aligning diverse stakeholders with varying priorities and perspectives to achieve a unified product vision. Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills are essential for building consensus and keeping projects on track. Additionally, adapting to fast-changing market trends while balancing short-term goals with long-term strategy can be demanding but is also highly rewarding in terms of professional growth.

 Overview

We are seeking a highly strategic Technical Product Delivery Manager to join an Emerging Technology team within a leading telecommunications organization. This team is responsible for identifying, evaluating, validating, and maturing innovative technologies—including AI-driven solutions—before transitioning them to enterprise product ownership teams for full-scale development and deployment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building concepts from the ground up, and can confidently influence senior leadership. The successful candidate will possess a strong product mindset, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to lead strategic discussions around emerging technologies with minimal oversight. Candidates with backgrounds in Product Management, Product Development, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, or Corporate Strategy are encouraged to apply, particularly those with experience in the cable broadband industry. This is a 6 months+ (with possible extensions) hybrid role that requires 4 days per week in the Denver, CO office and one day remote home office.  All qualified candidates must live in the greater Denver area and be able to be on site 4 days per week. We can not consider candidates outside of the Denver area. Please note qualified candidates must be authorized to work without visa sponsorship or visa transfers and we are not able to work C2C.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical product discovery and early-stage product development initiatives focused on emerging technologies and AI solutions.
  • Evaluate new technologies and develop strategic recommendations for adoption within the business.
  • Define product vision, business value, and success metrics for new initiatives.
  • Partner with engineering, architecture, operations, and business stakeholders to validate concepts and guide product direction.
  • Drive product delivery activities, ensuring initiatives move efficiently from concept through transition to enterprise product teams.
  • Facilitate executive-level meetings and workshops, presenting ideas clearly and influencing decision-making across multiple leadership levels.
  • Develop business cases, product roadmaps, and strategic recommendations for emerging technologies.
  • Gather and prioritize business requirements while balancing technical feasibility and customer value.
  • Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Operate independently with minimal direction while maintaining strong organizational discipline and execution.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Product Development, Technical Product Delivery, or a related strategic role.
  • Experience evaluating, developing, and delivering emerging technologies, digital products, or AI-driven solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the end-to-end product lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to define product vision, develop business cases, and drive product strategy from concept through delivery.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to confidently lead discussions and present to senior executives.
  • Proven ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration, influence decision-making, and build consensus across technical and business teams.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment while requiring minimal oversight.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong strategic thinking and a passion for innovation.
  • Comfortable presenting new ideas, facilitating healthy debate, and incorporating constructive feedback to improve outcomes.
  • Industry experience within the telecommunications industry is a must
  • Experience working with broadband technologies, customer connectivity products, or telecom infrastructure is a plus.
  • Background in Management Consulting, Corporate Strategy, Investment Banking, or technology strategy is highly desirable.
  • Experience with AI products, machine learning initiatives, or emerging technology evaluation frameworks is preferred.

Sand Cherry Associates is required by Colorado law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range considers a wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model.
