Job description

Production Release Engineer

We are seeking a Production Release Engineer to manage the release of products from Customer, Product Engineering, and Product Design & Development into Operations. This role supports product launches, APQP, PPAP, cross-functional teams, and production throughout the life of the product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage product and program launches from production release through the life of the product.
  • Coordinate production tooling, equipment, fixtures, and gage releases.
  • Coordinate APQP activities and support successful PPAP submissions.
  • Work with Engineering, Design, Drafting, Quality, Production, Purchasing, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure accurate production releases and support Zero Defect goals.
  • Evaluate manufacturing standards, drawings, specifications, and products against customer requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional team meetings and track open issues and project progress.
  • Define product compliance, dimensional and tolerance requirements, testing, and performance criteria.
  • Identify and coordinate product improvement opportunities.
  • Support Production with technical concerns and problem solving.
  • Respond to customer requests and provide customer support, including travel when required.
  • Support Safety Critical, Kaizen, and Zero Defect initiatives.
  • Maintain project documentation, work orders, tool sheets, and other engineering records.
  • Follow all company 6S and Safety Guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience preferred; experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Program Management, or Production Release is a plus.
  • Advanced blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation skills.
  • Strong computer, organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Basic knowledge of Electrical Engineering is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to recognize critical characteristics and ensure products meet approved specifications.
