What is product quality management?

Product Quality Management is the process of ensuring that a company's products meet defined quality standards and satisfy customer expectations. It involves planning, controlling, and improving the quality of products throughout their lifecycle, from development and manufacturing to delivery and support. This role often includes setting quality objectives, implementing quality control measures, and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement. Effective Product Quality Management helps reduce defects, increase customer satisfaction, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in product quality management?

To excel in Product Quality Management, you need a strong understanding of quality assurance principles, process improvement methodologies, and industry standards, often supported by a degree in engineering or a related field. Familiarity with tools like Six Sigma, ISO 9001 standards, statistical analysis software, and quality management systems (QMS) is typically required.
