Your role at Clorox:

The Packaging Materials Senior Engineer is part of our technical services team and delivers customer-oriented support and results for Supply Chain in focus areas of packaging materials, cost savings, supply assurance, brand maintenance, packaging sustainability, and finished product quality.

As part of the technical services team, you will be instrumental in different supply chain aspects while executing initiatives to ensure product availability. In this role, you will:

A successful candidate for this role must be a motivated self-starter who provides proactive technical leadership from charter approvals through production start-up. Responsibilities include supplier qualification, data analysis, problem solving, specification development, manufacturing trials, Design-to-Value innovation, change management, and regulatory compliance.

This position provides technical leadership and collaboration across Supply Chain, R&D, Manufacturing, Procurement, Commercialization, and external partners. The role serves as a packaging materials subject matter expert, leading small- to medium-sized projects and contributing specialized expertise to larger initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical services packaging activities, including planning, execution, and implementation of packaging-related deliverables.
  • Independently manage small- to medium-sized projects, establishing priorities, action plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support project teams within the Cleaning Business Unit to develop plans, implement activities, and achieve business objectives.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methods, including hypothesis development, test planning, data analysis, root-cause investigation, and recommendation development.
  • Ensure adherence to internal and external compliance requirements, standards, and management-of-change processes.
  • Maintain accurate and complete packaging material and finished product information in company databases, including PLM systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and transfer knowledge related to packaging materials and packaging machine interfaces.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, consultants, and manufacturing partners.
  • Collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams through business recommendations, project plans, presentations, and technical expertise.
  • Identify and remove barriers to project execution while proactively communicating risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Foster an innovative, collaborative, and process-driven work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement and new ways of working across projects and business processes.
  • Provide packaging materials expertise to business functions including R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Commercialization.
  • Support all U.S. Cleaning product categories.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel independently to Clorox manufacturing facilities, external manufacturing sites, and packaging material suppliers.
  • Domestic travel required.
  • Up to 35% travel required, including routine local travel and periodic domestic travel.

  • Minimum of five years of industrial experience within a consumer products company in manufacturing, technical, packaging, or R&D functions.
  • Packaging materials experience preferred.

Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.


-Zone A: $90,900 - $170,100

-Zone B: $83,400 - $155,900

-Zone C: $75,800 - $141,700
