Job Summary:
Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors is an industry-leading organization focused on enhancing the customer journey through digital tools. The Product Owner will lead the vision and development of the Customer Portal, prioritizing product roadmaps and ensuring delivery of value to stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Define, communicate, and prioritize product roadmaps, feature enhancements, and release plans based on customer insights, business goals, stakeholder input, and technology trends. (Essential)
• Gather and translate feedback from residents, business stakeholders, and internal users into actionable product features and requirements. (Essential)
• Work closely with the business analyst and development team in an agile environment to ensure clear requirements and timely delivery of features. (Essential)
• Partner with UX/UI designers to deliver intuitive and elegant digital experiences. (Essential)
• Serve as a subject matter expert and champion for portal functionality and digital resident engagement within the company.
• Monitor usage metrics, user feedback, and market trends to inform ongoing enhancements and innovations.
• Continuously advance the Customer Portal to deliver value, ease of use, and engagement across the resident lifecycle.
• May expand responsibilities to lead additional projects, such as internal team member mobile app or other digital products.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (Required)
• 5 years in of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or related role in digital product development (Required)
• Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
• Familiarity with web and mobile app development and platform best practices (iOS)
• Excellent skills in requirements gathering, road mapping, user story creation, and agile development
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
• Adept at interpreting analytics and customer feedback to drive product decisions
Preferred:
• 1 year in building/managing customer portals, especially in the property management or real estate industry (Preferred)
• Familiarity with integration points between customer portals and ERP or property management systems, preferred
• Understanding of secure portal login experiences, digital payment tools, self-service workflows, and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance user experience, preferred
