Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead day-to-day production activities on the shop floor. This role is responsible for driving operational performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost while building and developing a high-performing team.

This is an ideal opportunity for:

  • A current Production/Operations leader, or
  • A Manufacturing/Process Engineer ready to step into leadership

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily shop floor operations, including team meetings, production execution, and staffing
  • Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (waste reduction, standard work, process optimization)
  • Ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met efficiently
  • Coach, develop, and hold team members accountable for performance and safety
  • Provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, and manage disciplinary actions when needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and training teams
  • Monitor and manage labor efficiency, overtime, and workforce planning
  • Support a strong culture of safety, quality, and compliance
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions
  • Engage with customers as needed on product quality, testing, and process-related matters

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering, Business, or related field)
  • 4+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • (or 8+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in lieu of degree)
  • Proven experience driving Lean / Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace or automotive manufacturing background
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality systems
  • Experience with thermal processing, coatings, or specialized manufacturing processes
  • Background in process engineering or manufacturing engineering

Reporting Structure

  • Reports directly to the Plant Manager
