Position Summary:

This position leads analytics, reporting, forecasting, and business intelligence initiatives that support underwriting performance, portfolio profitability, and strategic growth by delivering actionable insights to business and executive leadership while partnering across underwriting, actuarial, claims, finance, operations, and product teams.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Lead underwriting data analysis and maintain analytic models across prospective lines of business to support actuarial, claims, underwriting, business development, and management decision-making.

  • Prepare regular portfolio and business performance reports and presentations for senior leadership/executive teams, including profitability, revenue, loss drivers, acquisition costs, revenue trajectories, forecasts, updates, budgets, and operating plans.

  • Assist the CUO and business leaders with fiscal planning, budgeting, premium projections, expense projections, forecasting, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis.

  • Support actuarial and underwriting teams with analytic insights for account renewals, new business opportunities, business cases, product launches, and portfolio growth strategies.

  • Drive development of data architecture, reports, dashboards, Power BI solutions, and other business intelligence products.

  • Create tailored solutions to monitor emerging risks, production tracking, and emerging experience for product launches.

  • Independently create P&Ls and pro-formas to assess business opportunities and portfolio/product performance.

  • Support underwriting, actuarial, claims, finance, operations, product, and business development with ad hoc analysis as needed.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and Excel is required.

  • Experience in building and implementing analytical tools, dashboards, reports.

  • Deep knowledge of analytical and statistical methods and technologies.

  • Actuarial/Technical underwriting experience, or understanding of the concepts is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • 2-3 Years in Actuarial or Insurance Analytics or Software development is preferred.

  • BS in Finance, Business, Insurance or a related field.

$140,000- $160,000

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
