Novella

Job description

Novella is the first AI native insurance brokerage protecting some of the largest, most complicated physical assets in the world. Whether it's sky scrapers on the Miami coast exposed to hurricanes, or rockets going to Mars - Novella's specialty AI agents are trained to help insurance brokers find coverage for their highest-risk customers.
These high-risk customers are part of a $150 Billion per year market segment called Excess and Surplus (E&S) Insurance. Today, all $150B of E&S premium is sold manually by humans working with humans. Novella is the first brokerage building AI agents that can augment humans and superpower them.
We're building a world class team with backgrounds in AI and insurance, who are excited about making insurance brokers 100X better at their jobs.
The Role
We're seeking a Product Manager who is obsessed with customers. Your job is to understand user flows inside and out, identify where things break or slow down, and build features that solve real problems for the brokers and underwriters who use our platform every day.
You'll own a full product domain and serve as the bridge between our internal brokerage team and our engineering team. That means sitting with brokers, watching them work, hearing their frustrations, and translating what you learn into a product roadmap that makes their lives measurably easier. It also means working hand-in-hand with engineers to ship features fast and iterate based on real usage.
The role of a PM has changed dramatically in 2026. We no longer need PRDs but functioning prototypes. PMs can now ship code directly to production. The ideal candidate is obsessed with users but also obsessed with using AI to make themselves the best PM possible.
The Day to Day
  • Own a full product domain end-to-end - from discovery through delivery and iteration.
  • Spend significant time with our brokerage team and retail broker customers understanding their workflows, pain points, and what would make their lives easier.
  • Build prototypes, and sometimes actual features, to address the problems user experience
  • Deeply understand complex business flows and build AI agents to handle those flow on behalf of our brokers.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between our brokerage operations team and our engineering team, ensuring both sides are aligned.

What We're Looking For
  • 3-5 years of product management experience, ideally at a B2B SaaS company or startup.
  • Strong ability to understand complex business flows and translate them into simple, intuitive product experiences.
  • Comfortable working directly with engineers and equally comfortable interfacing with insurance professionals
  • Excellent communication skills - you can explain technical concepts to business users and business context to engineers.
  • Bias toward action and comfort with ambiguity. You ship, learn, and iterate extremely quickly.
