PROJECT MANAGER | ONE HAT ONE HAND


One Hat One Hand is seeking a qualified Project Manager with experience in interior design, architecture, event production, industrial design, custom fabrication, and/or construction. The role is primarily a project management position but also requires a strong design sensibility, the ability to design and 3D model in Rhino, and the ability to read and redline architectural drawing sets. The right candidate is detail-oriented, excited by teamwork, and has a background in project management and design for fabrication.


Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for successfully overseeing and delivering all contracted scope for a given project, incorporating aspects of account management, production management, project management, and design. This role ensures clear communication of the project schedule and deliverables among clients, designers, and the production team.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for Clients, Consultants, Account Managers, and Project Stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development of design concepts, 3D visualizations, and presentation decks for client meetings
  • Collaborate with designers and the internal Production Department for prototyping strategies, build drawings, production schedules, and install and maintenance plans
  • Manage the production of technical documentation for coordination with contractors, structural engineering, MEP engineering, and permitting
  • Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders; create agendas, take detailed notes, and distribute follow-up materials
  • Maintain communication regarding scope, schedule, and budget with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and client on problem solving, documenting changes, and foreseeing change orders or scope creep with account managers
  • Project based time management of hours allocated per task, phase, and department
  • Coordinate fabrication schedules within and between projects
  • Track and manage project finances; issue contracts, budget revisions, and invoices; source, order materials, and coordinate deliveries
  • Prepare and present intermediate and final job reports
  • Compile final documentation of project (photos, designs, descriptions) in collaboration with the marketing department
  • Work with Design Studio Manager to ensure project asset are being organized and archived for easy cross department navigation
  • Create and maintain tools to facilitate cross functional collaboration
  • Collaborating with account managers and finance on creating, maintaining, and tracking internal and external budgets
  • Ensuring that projects are created with reasonable and profitable budgets.
  • Performing Regular 360 project reviews to ensure, budget is reflective of materials, labor, and design. That assets are organized, and departments are aware of the project timeline
  • Find opportunities to add value to clients and exceed client expectations to ensure client retention and satisfaction for future projects


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Project management, client management, schedule creation and management, and construction administration
  • Highly creative with strong critical thinking skills
  • Passion for experiential storytelling and inclusive team management
  • Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with professional meeting etiquette and management skills; agenda creation, concise note taking, and punctuality
  • Knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques and technologies, and rapid prototyping including CNC, laser cutting, waterjet, 3D printing
  • Knowledge of production, construction, engineering, and architectural terminology
  • Highly adaptable in transferring skills and knowledge to new jobs that may require flexibility in systems previously developed or used
  • Strong design sensibility, storyboarding, presentation design, graphic design, sketching, drawing markup
  • 3D modeling, rendering. MUST be able to use RHINO and be able to design at a mid level.
  • Programs: Adobe CS, Bluebeam, Asana, Instagantt or other Gantt charts, GSuite, Procore, Rhino


Compensation

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 per year, depending on experience. This role is hybrid but the ability to attend meetings at our campus headquarters and client job sites as needed is required.
