Job description


Job Purpose
Own the strategy, roadmap, and modernization of Weatherford's CygNet SCADA platform, providing the product leadership and foundation that support commercial success in partnership with Sales and Commercial teams. CygNet is a live, revenue-generating industrial software platform used across upstream (incl. production optimization), midstream, and industrial operations to monitor, control, and manage field assets and operational data.
The Product Manager is responsible for driving modernization across HMI, historian capabilities, operational data services, system integrations, user workflows, and platform architecture while maintaining operational reliability and customer continuity. This role defines product vision, roadmap priorities, modernization sequencing, and business outcomes aligned with portfolio strategy, approved budgets, customer needs, architecture standards, and Weatherford governance requirements.
The Product Manager works closely with Engineering Leads, Technical Product Leads, Product Owners, UX, and Architecture teams to modernize the platform architecture and deliver scalable, reliable, and commercially competitive software solutions.
The role is accountable for product adoption readiness, customer satisfaction, ROI, lifecycle performance, progress in modernization, and market competitiveness.
The Product Manager must maintain a strong awareness of customer needs, industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor platforms to ensure CygNet remains commercially competitive and aligned with market expectations.
This role requires a commercially aware and technically capable product leader who can operate effectively across complex stakeholder environments, identify risks early, prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly with technical and business leadership.
This role also plays a critical organizational leadership function by interfacing regularly with senior leadership, aligning stakeholders around priorities and tradeoffs, and helping create the conditions for the engineering team to stay focused on execution. In this capacity, the Product Manager serves as an internal voice of the customer for the CygNet engineering team, ensuring they have the context, clarity, prioritization, and organizational support needed to do their best work.
Roles & Responsibilities
PRODUCT STRATEGY & PLATFORM MODERNIZATION
• Define product vision and roadmap aligned to portfolio strategy and customer needs
• Develop multi-year roadmaps tied to measurable business outcomes
• Define product positioning, differentiation, and modernization priorities
• Make lifecycle decisions, including invest, modernize, maintain, or retire
• Align roadmap priorities with funding, capacity, and business goals
BUSINESS CASE DEVELOPMENT & ROI OWNERSHIP
• Develop business cases for new initiatives, modernization efforts, and strategic investments
• Track ROI, financial performance, and set up and track budget utilization
• Quantify revenue impact, customer value, and operational benefits
• Escalate budget risks, funding gaps, or major tradeoffs early
• Support pricing, packaging, and commercialization discussions---
CUSTOMER & MARKET LEADERSHIP
• Maintain strong understanding of customer workflows, operational challenges, market trends, and competitor platforms
• Partner with Customer Success, Support, Services, Commercial, and operational teams to gather feedback and identify improvement opportunities
• Ensure customer and market feedback are reflected in roadmap decisions
• Support, attend, or lead as appropriate strategic customer engagements (e.g., customer advisory boards, roadmap discussions, user groups)
• Monitor market trends and competitive positioning to support product strategy and modernization priorities---
AGILE DELIVERY & PRODUCT EXECUTION
• Translate product strategy into prioritized backlogs and delivery plans
• Partner closely with Engineering, Design, QA, and Architecture teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with Weatherford delivery, security, architecture, and quality standards
• Balance feature delivery, platform stability, modernization efforts, and technical enhancements
• Participate in sprint planning, release planning, reviews, and validation activities
• Accept delivered features against the defined business and success criteria---
PRODUCT OWNER PARTNERSHIP
• Provide strategic direction and prioritization guidance to Product Owners
• Align backlog sequencing with roadmap priorities and delivery capacity
• Review backlog quality, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Monitor delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment
• Support resolution of conflicting priorities and scope ambiguity---
COMMERCIAL & GO TO MARKET PARTNERSHIP
• Support Commercial teams during strategic customer pursuits and roadmap discussions
• Partner with Marketing to ensure product messaging accurately reflects capabilities and roadmap maturity
• Contribute to pricing, packaging, and positioning discussions
• Represent Weatherford and the CygNet platform in strategic customer engagements, industry events, conferences, and executive presentations to support product positioning, customer relationships, and market awareness
• Support conferences, customer presentations, and promotional activities where required

Experience & Education
REQUIRED
• 6+ years of Product Management experience in enterprise software, industrial software, SCADA, operational technology, or related environments

• Experience defining product strategy, roadmaps, business cases, and investment priorities
• Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools to manage product backlogs, sprint planning, release tracking, and delivery workflows
• Experience working closely with QA teams to support test planning, acceptance criteria validation, release readiness, and product quality
• Experience working closely with Engineering and technical teams in complex software environments
• Experience managing product budgets and tracking ROI
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and working with Product Owners
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices, including Scrum and Kanban
• Experience gathering customer feedback and translating insights into product priorities
