Job description

Ironclad is the leading AI contracting platform that transforms agreements into assets. Contracts move faster, insights surface instantly, and agents push work forward, all with you in control. Whether you're buying or selling, Ironclad unifies the entire process on one intelligent platform, providing leaders with the visibility they need to stay one step ahead. That's why the world's most transformative organizations, from Rivian to the World Health Organization and the Associated Press, trust Ironclad to accelerate their business.
We're consistently recognized as a leader in the industry: a Leader in the Forrester Wave and Gartner Magic Quadrant for Contract Lifecycle Management, a Fortune Great Place to Work, and one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Workplaces. Ironclad has also been named to Forbes' AI 50 and Business Insider's list of Companies to Bet Your Career On. We're backed by leading investors including Accel, Y Combinator, Sequoia, BOND, and Franklin Templeton. For more information, visit www.ironcladapp.com or follow us on LinkedIn.
This is a hybrid role. Office attendance is required at least twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for collaboration and connection. There may be additional in-office days for team or company events.
About this role:
You'll own Ironclad's Contract Understanding Platform: the extraction and document understanding systems that turn contracts into accurate, structured, actionable knowledge. It powers Search, Smart Import, and our AI Agents, and it's the ground truth every agent reasons over.
You'll own extraction quality end to end, from document import to structured data to export, and shape how that data is built once and served to every team that depends on it. You will go deeper than flat properties: capturing the relationships between clauses, terms, and contracts so agents can reason across a customer's entire repository. Expect to move between customer workflows and hard technical calls, from an API contract to a build-versus-buy decision to a production-quality regression. You'll partner across engineering, applied science, design, data, legal experts, Security, and GTM, and you'll bring technical depth, sharp product judgment, and the ability to create clarity in ambiguity.
Responsibilities:
  • Own the strategy and the quality. Set the vision, roadmap, and OKRs for contract understanding, and stay accountable for extraction accuracy, depth, and coverage from import through export, including long documents, multi-agreement detection, and bulk extraction.
  • Build the data once, serve it everywhere. Define the APIs, schemas, and developer experience that let every client team build on a single, consistent extraction service.
  • Build and ideate on front-end user experiences. Enable users to review and validate data and use that feedback to improve product quality.
  • Model the relationships in a contract. Move from flat properties to a connected representation that captures clauses, topics, intra- and inter-contract relationships, and negotiation history, so agents reason relationally and with high recall.
  • Own the AI quality flywheel. Build the datasets, evals, production metrics, regression gates, and feedback loops that separate benchmark scores from real production quality.
  • Connect the platform to customers. Carry shared capabilities into workflows like Smart Import and Intake, and use research, telemetry, and GTM feedback to turn a customer's existing contract data into durable advantage.
  • Lead through influence. Make consequential technical calls (model architectures, vendors, build-versus-buy) and align engineering, design, data, executives, and partners around clear decisions and accountable execution.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of product management experience, including staff-level ownership of a technically complex product area.
  • Experience shipping production AI/ML, developer platform, data infrastructure, or search products.
  • Practical fluency with LLM systems, extraction or retrieval, APIs, data models, evaluation methods, latency, and cost.
  • Strong quantitative judgment, including the ability to tell offline benchmark performance from actual production quality.
  • Platform instincts: you solve immediate needs while extracting durable, shared capabilities.
  • Experience owning customer-facing outcomes, not just internal infrastructure.
  • Enterprise-product judgment where trust, scale, compliance, and workflow integration matter.
  • Excellent written communication and influence across engineering, leadership, GTM, and customers.
  • Experience with document AI, knowledge graphs, legal tech, or data-labeling systems is a plus, not a requirement.

US Full-Time Employee Benefits at Ironclad:
  • 100% health coverage for employees (medical, dental, and vision), and 75% coverage for dependents with buy-up plan options available
  • Market-leading leave policies, including gender-neutral parental leave and compassionate leave
  • Family forming support through Maven for you and your partner
  • Paid time off - take the time you need, when you need it
  • Monthly stipends for wellbeing, hybrid work, and (if applicable) cell phone use
  • Mental health support through Modern Health, including therapy, coaching, and digital tools
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits (US Employees)
  • 401(k) plan with Fidelity with employer match (US Employees)
  • Regular team events to connect, recharge, and have fun
  • And most importantly: the opportunity to help build the company you want to work at

**UK Employee-specific benefits are included on our UK job postings
