The Waymo Driver powers Waymo's fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.
Waymo's Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo's technology and the products it enables forward. We do this by understanding the customer, the business, and the technology. We are humble about the scope of our work, collaborative in our approach to problem-solving, and ambitious about our vision for the future.
This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to a Group Product Manager.
You will:
  • Foster a culture of extensive pre-production testing and experimentation through a well functioning, highly capable and easy to use fleet simulation platform
  • Define and deliver on the roadmap for fleet wide simulation to evaluate impact of offboard changes to commercial performance (depot operations, ride hailing operations)
  • Collaborate with various engineering and product teams to understand types of changes they need to evaluate and build a roadmap that serves multiple internal stakeholders
  • Work with Data Analytics team to enable a simulation environment that enables experimentation of ML & OR models prior to launch
  • Understand Developer Experience necessary to support large scale adoption of this simulation platform and deliver front end tools necessary to drive adoption
  • Deeply understand complex operational, engineering, system-level pain points, and turn these insights into a crisp roadmap

You have:
  • 5+ years of product management experience with Experience collaborating directly with engineering, UX teams Data Science and operations teams
  • A BS degree in Computer Science, engineering, similar technical field
  • Ability to deeply understand developer experience as it relates to pre-production testing and experimentation and use that empathy to drive a steller product roadmap
  • Ability to translate company-level outcomes to team-level outcomes and build a product roadmap to achieve those outcomes
  • Direct ownership/ accountability to highly technical infrastructure outcomes

We prefer:
  • A master's degree in a technical or engineering discipline, MBA, or equivalent experience in Robotics or Machine Learning
  • Prior experience working with testing or simulation environments
  • Prior experience working on highly scaled web services, technical infrastructure, and platforms
  • Prior experience working in complex operational settings (e.g., Amazon, Walmart)
  • Experience at a high-growth company helping scale its systems/ pipelines
  • Past experience collaborating with geographically distributed teams

Travel:
  • Quarterly visit to the Warsaw office
  • Quarterly visit to existing or upcoming Waymo market to observe operations

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process.
Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo's discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.

$204,000-$252,000 USD
