Job description

Job Description About the Role Pinnacle Partners is recruiting for a Territory Sales Manager. This position will focus primarily on mid-sized commercial construction projects while working closely with estimating, engineering, project management, drafting, and fabrication teams. The ideal candidate will be a relationship-driven sales professional who is comfortable prospecting, managing longer project-based sales cycles, and developing new business.

Key Responsibilities: Own and develop a Midwest sales territory focused primarily on Central Indiana and surrounding states. Develop new business opportunities with general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, and other commercial construction stakeholders. Leverage existing contractor relationships and contacts while continuing to expand the customer base.

Prospect for new commercial construction projects and identify opportunities for Tuttle's products. Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the sales process. Meet with contractors and customers to understand project requirements and identify opportunities.

Review construction drawings to identify potential projects and determine where company products may fit. Manage sales opportunities through an approximately six-month project-based sales cycle. Focus primarily on commercial projects in the approximately $500K-$1M range.

Collaborate with the estimating team on bids, pricing, proposals, and scopes of work. Coordinate with engineering, project management, drafting/detailing, fabrication, and other internal teams. Transition sold projects to the Project Management team while maintaining the customer relationship.

Track pipeline activity, sales volume, close rates, and opportunity value. Work toward approximately $3M-$5M in first-year sales depending on experience and ramp-up. Travel throughout Indiana and surrounding Midwest states to meet with customers and contractors.

Maximize travel by scheduling multiple customer meetings within each market. Support larger projects alongside the Director of Sales during the initial onboarding period. Develop an independent territory and customer base following the initial training period.

Maintain a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to identifying and closing new business. Requirements: Experience in commercial construction, building products, or a closely related industry. Proven sales or business development experience with a demonstrated ability to develop new business.

Experience selling to or developing relationships with general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, architects, or similar construction stakeholders. Strong understanding of the commercial construction environment and project-based sales process. Comfortable prospecting, asking questions, uncovering opportunities, and developing new customer relationships.

Ability to manage longer sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders. Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills. Strong organization and follow-through while managing multiple opportunities.

Technical aptitude and ability to learn building products, construction drawings, specifications, and project scopes. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Willingness to travel approximately 20-30% throughout Indiana and surrounding Midwest states.

Preferred: 5-7 years of commercial construction or building-products sales experience. 3-5 years of relevant experience will also be considered for strong candidates. Experience with structural steel, miscellaneous metals/iron, precast concrete, glass/glazing, curtain wall, facade systems, railings, or similar engineered building products.

Experience selling projects in the $500K-$1M+ range. Existing relationships with Midwest general contractors or construction managers. Experience reviewing construction drawings or blueprints.

Experience with takeoff software. Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Experience selling into schools, universities, institutional facilities, arenas, stadiums, or other commercial/public construction markets.

Experience tracking sales pipelines, close rates, and sales volume. Benefits Overview: $130K-$145K base salary, depending on experience. 10% target bonus.
