Position Summary:
Lead and coordinate all product modification activities and the introduction of new product variations. This includes managing and validating changes in packaging configurations, artwork development, fragrance options, and alternative raw materials to ensure product feasibility, quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. The role ensures seamless cross functional collaboration, timely execution of product updates, and consistent alignment with customer expectations and internal operational standards.
Essential Functions:
  • Management of the modification as per the internal procedure in place of the existing products (called internally Simple Product Modification - SPM and Complex Product Modification - CPM) based on the Customer requirements (new version, change of the current product, new product) or internal requirements (i.e.: Alternative source, business contingency plan, alternative materials and components)
  • Management of the Technical documentation as per the internal procedure (AEROFIL) in place.
  • Management of the specific documents required by the Customer
  • Customer interface during the assigned product modifications
  • Coordination of the preparation of the samples required during the product modification
  • Coordinates the Product Engineering change request, from the product design change till the document issuing, including BOM preparation (where required) in SAP
  • Ensure product quality in compliance with customer requirements.
  • Participate in the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001/15).
  • Report any safety or environmental anomalies to management.
  • When apply Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Create or track timelines in MS Project for new projects.
  • Coordinate with Sales for FCR approvals (FCR).
  • Create projects in PPMS.
  • Follow-up on Business Opinions (BO Lite, sales team).
  • Coordinate internal CAPEX activities for new product preparation if needed.
  • Coordinate production runs (Line Trials, FAT, SAT, VAT, TSRP).
  • Coordinate and develop lab tests.
  • Coordinate SAP preparation for new sub-assemblies and finished goods.
  • Follow-up part number generation and cost process for new items (raw materials, fragrances, components)
  • Costing of sub-assemblies and finished products.
  • Coordinate Phase in - Phase out Process

Physical Demands:
  • The role requires being physically present during FAT, SAT, VAT, and TSRP runs to oversee execution and gather data.
  • Supporting lab testing involves preparing materials, moving samples, and documenting test results on site.
  • Since the role manages packaging changes and product variations, hands-on evaluation of components is needed.
  • Customer design meetings and technical discussions often require factory walk-throughs or product line visits.
  • Ensuring SAP accuracy requires handling and verifying physical components.
  • Coordinating CAPEX for new product preparation may involve inspecting equipment or verifying installation readiness.
  • Collecting samples from production or lab environments is a physical task included in coordinating product modifications.
  • This includes standing for extended periods on the production floor and moving between work areas.
  • This requires physically inspecting areas, identifying issues, and documenting them for ISO 14001 and GMP compliance.
  • Supporting GMP means physical tasks such as verifying cleanliness, checking documentation areas, and inspecting materials.

Education / Experience:
  • Engineering degree or technical career
  • Some Packaging Engineering experience in the Aerosol, Liquid or other related packaging Industry space.

Experience:
  • 2-3 years in product development.
  • Experience coordinating product modifications and new product variations
  • Experience collaborating with customers on product design and technical requirements
  • Experience managing feasibility, costing, and technical evaluations (FCR process)
  • Experience creating and managing project timelines using MS Project
  • Experience coordinating production trials and lab testing activities
  • Experience preparing and maintaining SAP master data

The Product Maintenance Engineer is accountable for ensuring the successful execution of product modifications and the introduction of new product variations by coordinating cross-functional activities, maintaining compliance with quality and environmental systems, and delivering accurate technical documentation and timelines.
