As the market share leader in exterior automotive lighting, NAL provides advanced lighting technology, engineering design expertise, and state-of-the-art production capabilities to auto makers based in North America and around the world.  

Our Opportunity 

North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Production Engineering Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will plan and direct the production engineering function; and provide technical support to other engineering disciplines, manufacturing, or staff functions within his or her assigned manufacturing facility. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Your Priorities 

  • Plans and directs all production engineering activities and personnel within the plant, ensuring proper and effective support of new product launches by the production engineering department. 
  • Ensures process control systems for all production processes, and provides adequate training to the manufacturing groups to assure capability of implementing control system. 
  • Oversees the on-time input of the BOM/routings, and ensures that production rates and machine cycle times are available for input for all new products per the established project plan. 
  • Assists in the preparation of Process Failure Mode and Effect Analyses (PFMEA), Process Design Sheets, Process Flow Diagrams, and other Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities. 
  • Ensures proper utilization of equipment through updating engineering standards (i.e. production rates, machine load). 
  • Ensures the on-time delivery of all equipment necessary to support new product launches.

The salary range for this position is $100,980.00 - 144,400.00 per year. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, qualifications, and the career level at which the position is filled.

Requirements

Your Background 

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline, plus 8 - 10 years of experience in manufacturing environment-including: 

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in Production/Process Engineering. 
  • 4 years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or management position. 

MBA or MS in Engineering, and experience with an automotive lighting manufacturer is preferred.
