Job Summary
Product Engineer / CFT Engineer
Purpose
Serve as the primary customer interface for product engineering activities, including engineering changes (EC/ECO), deviations, AVL qualifications, new product introductions (NPI), and manufacturing support. Drive issue resolution and ensure smooth product transitions into production.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze product and process data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Support manufacturing operations as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, visual aids, and process requirements.
  • Coordinate prototype builds, engineering changes, deviations, and BOM updates.
  • Evaluate inspection and test results to ensure products meet quality and performance requirements.
  • Implement design and process improvements to enhance manufacturability and efficiency.
  • Act as the engineering liaison between customers, manufacturing, and support teams.
  • Coordinate tooling and fixture requirements for assembly, inspection, and material handling.
  • Support NPI, product transfers, and ongoing production activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in electronics manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of SMT processes, PCB assemblies, schematics, component datasheets, and fabrication specifications.
  • Experience with ECOs, deviations, BOM management, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • DFX (DFM/DFA) experience.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Experience supporting NPI and high-volume manufacturing environments.
