The Senior Product Scientist will lead the Product Development aspect of Research and Development (R&D) projects specific to Poise and Depend light end Innovation programs within our Adult and Feminine Care (AFC) portfolio. As a member of the R&D D&C Team, this individual will work collaboratively with the Project Leader, Marketing, Sales, Quality, Insights and Analytics, Manufacturing and other R&D partners to develop and execute learning plans while also mentoring more junior Product Developers. This role reports to an R&D Manager and receives work direction from the Manager, Technical Strategist and Project Leaders.

About You

In one of our R&D roles, you'll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. Job responsibilities include:

  • Working with the R&D project lead and marketing team as well as Personal Care R&D, develop product learning plans and navigate the various stages of a project from idea to execution.

  • Lead the interaction with the marketing team to ensure product design is meeting our concept and is on strategy.

  • Champion the product design and learning plan for Poise and Depend light end innovation programs.

  • Champion claims substantiation and benefit visualization development to bring the innovation to life.

  • Protect and defend K-C proprietary product and technology through the appropriate use of patents and trade secrets.

  • Document key learnings and significant research findings in a searchable, retrievable format and coach junior team members in their documentation practices.

  • Develop and leverage deep product expertise and leverage knowledge cross-functionally to field questions for existing products, design to value/cost optimization opportunities, competitive claims, etc.

  • Make connections between projects and product learnings to solve complex complaint and manufacturing issues.

  • Ensure all work complies with corporate safety, quality, regulatory, product safety and sustainability requirements.

  • Interface effectively with the other work stream teams to ensure business success.

  • Provide coaching and mentorship to more junior Product Developers on the team

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degreein related major scientific or engineering discipline. May also include other relevant disciplines (i.e., Psychology, Nursing, and Sociology)

  • A minimum of5years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred(not essential, but desired):

  • Experience in product development and/or technology development

  • Experience in executing consumer and/or technical/scientific product studies

  • Demonstrated strengths in scientific experimentation methods, analysis and planning/organizing, reading and comprehension of technical literature

  • Experience leading both consumer and technical research studies

  • Experience leading product design changes

  • A demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete projects within requiredtimeframes

  • Work experience across a range of Research &Developmentdisciplines

  • Strong understanding ofAdult and Feminine Careproducts, brands,business, and technologies.

  • Strong mentoring skills

Salary Range: 105,740 - 130,620 USDAt Kimberly-Clark, pay is just one aspect of our total rewards package, which also includes a variety of benefits and opportunities to achieve, thrive and grow. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience.
