Job description

Summary Yoh is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support the development of advanced aerospace and highly engineered products. This senior-level role will provide technical leadership across the product development lifecycle, partnering with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program teams to establish scalable quality processes, improve product reliability, and ensure new products are successfully transitioned into production. The ideal candidate has extensive experience supporting complex development programs, leading technical investigations, and implementing quality strategies that enhance safety, manufacturability, and long-term product performance.

 $75-110/hr DOE 
Location: Onsite; Frisco, TX
Type: Contract to hire
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Person (ITAR environment)
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the senior quality engineering lead supporting complex product development initiatives from concept through production readiness.
  • Develop and implement quality engineering strategies that promote reliability, manufacturability, and product performance throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate quality into system design, verification, validation, testing, and manufacturing planning activities.
  • Evaluate product designs for manufacturability, inspectability, maintainability, reliability, and overall product quality.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical readiness assessments, and engineering change evaluations while identifying and mitigating technical risks.
  • Lead complex root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies and drive effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support reliability engineering activities, including failure trend analysis, risk assessments, reliability growth initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop quality approaches for laboratory, environmental, ground, and operational testing while ensuring anomalies and nonconformances are properly investigated and resolved.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop production-ready processes, inspection strategies, process controls, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support the transition from prototype development into scalable production by identifying manufacturing risks and implementing appropriate quality controls.
  • Partner with suppliers to assess quality risks, support corrective actions, and improve supplier performance for critical components.
  • Develop quality engineering standards, best practices, and technical guidance to strengthen organizational capabilities.
  • Mentor quality engineers and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Present technical findings, quality metrics, and risk assessments to engineering leadership and key stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 12+ years of quality engineering experience supporting aerospace, defense, aviation, space, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Extensive experience supporting new product development and engineering programs.
  • Strong knowledge of quality engineering principles across the full product development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience leading complex root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience with reliability engineering, failure analysis, risk management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production readiness, and new product introduction.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 or comparable quality management systems and regulated industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting advanced aircraft, autonomous systems, defense technologies, or other complex engineered products.
  • Background supporting developmental testing, qualification, or verification programs.
  • Experience with FRACAS, FMEA, reliability growth analysis, statistical methods, or similar quality tools.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supporting government or military programs.
