The Senior Manager, Product Development - Pets, leads cross-functional teams to drive product initiatives from concept through lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with business strategies and customer needs. This role involves managing sourcing activities, conducting root cause analysis, and resolving product issues to meet production timelines. The position requires collaboration with internal and external partners to develop product specifications, benchmark industry trends, and guide creative direction. The Senior Manager also oversees performance metrics, streamlines processes, and supports team development to deliver high-quality products that align with merchandising goals and enhance overall business performance.
About the team:
The Product Development team plays a pivotal role in advancing Walmart Brands by integrating category and brand strategies with product innovation. This team leads cross-functional collaboration across Merchandising, Sourcing, Brand, Packaging, Quality, and suppliers to develop purposeful and differentiated products. They focus on building a cohesive development pipeline and a forward-looking product roadmap that balances customer needs, quality, value, and commercial goals. By aligning strategy with execution, the team drives product excellence and growth, ensuring Walmart’s Pets portfolio remains competitive and responsive to evolving market opportunities.
What you'll do:

  • Manage communications with internal and external partners to drive product development initiatives and ensure alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Identify and investigate potential issues during the product lifecycle, performing root cause analysis and recommending effective solutions.
  • Oversee sourcing activities, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of documentation to support business strategies and audit requirements.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage product specifications to meet quality standards and customer needs through collaboration and benchmarking.
  • Direct product strategy implementation by analyzing data, streamlining processes, and providing insights to senior leadership.
  • Lead multiple projects by setting priorities, removing obstacles, and measuring progress to achieve business objectives.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
