Job description

Position Summary:

Assists the Product Engineering team in developing new products.

 

Position Requirements:

  1. Read Engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and converse with team members to determine required outputs.
  2. Identify and perform tests at specified product development stages, and test product characteristics such as dimensional, performance, mechanical, electrical or chemical in nature. 
  3. Evaluate data and write concise reports that can be used to validate or indicate required deviations from existing standards.
  4. Assist in new product development by sourcing components, building and assembling parts, and testing and collecting pertinent data.
  5. Assist in debugging and troubleshooting new electronic and electromechanical product designs.
  6. Successfully interact with a wide variety of people, including peers, Product Development Engineers, vendors and customers.
  7. Prepare graphs or charts or data in a professional manner for analysis and review. 
  8. Analyze part returns and conduct teardown analysis.
  9. Maintain prototype build and tracking sheets per SSI quality standards.
  10. Write inspection, work or process instructions.
  11. Writes prototype and development processing instructions.
  12. Maintain compliance to current customer specific requirements as applicable.
  13. Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program.
  14. Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of SSI Technologies, Inc. which includes following the policies, procedures, and requirements of our Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  15. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

 

Professional/Technical Experience, Skills and Education:

  1. Associates Degree in Electronics or 2 years of relevant work experience, required.
  2. Previous technical electronic engineering experience preferred.
  3. Previous automotive experience, preferred.
  4. LabView or Orcad experience, preferred.
  5. EMC/ESD test, environmental testing, ability to build/repair/analyze, small SMT components preferred.
