A Brief Overview
This position will establish and maintain strong physician relationships within and between Stormont Vail Health and regional providers, including but not limited to physicians, hospitals, and facilities, in order to drive volume in services from internal and external sources. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply; however, preference will be given to candidates residing in the Manhattan/Junction City/Flint Hills area due to territory assignments.
Education Qualifications

What you will do

  • Connects employed physicians in local and regional clinics, including the introduction and promotion of certain specialty services in order to avoid unnecessary leakage and splitter behavior. This includes the on-boarding of new physicians and the introduction and relationship development with other employed physicians as required. Works with employed physicians on effective communication and presentation skills for speaking engagements and peer-to-peer opportunities.
  • Strategically identifies and leads initiatives to build hospital volumes and clinic referrals from external sources in the region, including physicians, hospitals, urgent care centers, skilled nursing, and other types of facilities and health care workers.
  • Develops and maintains regional relationships through face-to-face visits with referring providers, including hospital administrators, physicians, office managers, nurses, and other healthcare workers.
  • Cultivates new referral relationships identified by existing reporting tools or market intelligence, in order to grow volume from new sources in the region. Works to build favorable perceptions among internal and external referral sources.
  • Works collaboratively with service line leaders to strategically promote hospital and specialty services in the region. Identifies campaign opportunities for growth and collaboration internally and externally.
  • Gathers and records market intelligence information and records outreach activities for campaigns and general activities. Provides insight to key executives on emerging business opportunities, market dynamics, and competitor movements.
  • Understands how to access health system services for patient referrals, specialty consultations, and hospital transfers. Works to uncover and minimize obstacles.
  • Works collaboratively with service line leaders to strategically identify and establish outreach specialty services in regional clinics and hosted sites, in order to strengthen existing referral patterns.
  • Uses reporting tools to analyze patient flow from internal and external sources.
  • Promotes Epic Care Link and Cloud Imaging as effective communication tools between the health system and external providers when appropriate.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for providers to resolve any problems or complaints, and respond to general inquiries.
  • Communicates in a manner that supports the vision, mission, and value of Stormont Vail Health to all employed and external providers.
  • Prepares activity and production reports as requested.
  • Attends meetings and may participates on committees as directed.

  • 60% Ability to travel to a multitude of counties, hospitals, and physician offices in Northeast Kansas
