Job description

JR286 is seeking a dedicated Product Developer to join our team in Torrance, California. The Product Developer is responsible for proving the innovation and technical execution of world-class concepts through research, ideation, prototype, development processes. Communicates across cross-functional partners to ensure the successful delivery of ENI-JR286โ€™s accessories and equipment. The role focuses on executing defined tasks in the product creation process, coordinating samples and data, and ensuring products meet basic quality, cost, and timeline requirements.

What You'll Do:

  • Master our product development process from concept through mass production hitting all milestones according to calendar deadlines.ย 
  • Own the development of critical products and deliver flawlessly.
  • Demonstrate project management excellence mastering our webbased platform to systematically execute all required tasks and milestones, organizing all required documentation and collaborating with global teammates and leaders to move projects forward.
  • Lead product design using engineering fundamentals including but not limited to critical thinking, problem solving, DFM and DFMEA to identify potential failure modes and reduce risk by creating and executing a plan to desing out, test out, and inspect out high RPN numbers.
  • Master product spec creation including product views, critical dimensions, bill of materials, functional requirements, color, quality requirements and any relevant product specific details.
  • Master and execute all required performance and regulatory tests & post test reports, troubleshoot and improve performance until we exceed all product requirements.
  • Partner with overseas factory partners to lead all protoyping efforts to meet performance and cost criteria, realize all designed features and land a complete sample for final proto milestone.
  • Master Wear Testing combining verbal feedback, qualitative data, and quantitative data to fully understand athlete needs and translate them into product features and dimensions controlled on tech packs.
  • Be a strong voice in our crossfunctional โ€œTriadโ€ being the voice of project management, product performance, product cost, and risk reduction to both grow the business and set up downstream teams for success in commercialization.
  • Work with management to ensure all development tasks and documentation is up to date in webbased project management platform so management reports are fully updated with status and comments for reporting.
  • Master demonstrating creativity and technical excellence owning innovation projects that challenge the status quo and result in quantifable performance gains for next generation products.
  • Create and foster value-driven partnerships with internal and external product groups.
  • Deliver special projects as assigned.

What to Bring:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in product development, industrial design, engineering, textiles, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience in sporting goods or soft goods.
  • 3+ years prior experience in a product engineering, development, design or innovation role
  • Ability to collaborate with teammates to overcome adversity, hit metrics, and achieve goals
  • Passion for sports, sporting goods, equipment, streetwear, and fashion
  • Strong organizational and followthrough skills, basic understanding of product construction and manufacturing, proficiency with Excel/Sheets and design/PLM tools, and effective written and verbal communication in aย teamย environment.
  • Must be coachable: ability to listen to feedback, adapt, and continuously improve
  • Domestic and overseas travel as project status requires (2-4 overseas trips annually is typical).

    Nice to Have:

    • Experience using Monday.com or other webbased project management tools
    • Self Sufficient โ€“ Acting with intelligence, self-direction and accuracy
    • 3+ yearsโ€™ Product/Accessories/Equipment development experience.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies: textile, injection molding, automation
    • Experience with performance, compliance, and use case testing of sporting goods and equipment.
    • PMP, Lean or Six Sigma Certification and history of successful application
    • Ability to interpret design intent and offer alternative solutions to improve performance, manufacturing, cost.
    • Ability to anticipate and troubleshoot issues of consequence to quality and delivery with ease.
    • Proactive, and result driven, ability to work well under pressure.
    • Strong communication, sound problem solving skills, organized and detail oriented.
    • Self-starter, team player, strong follow up skills, with a sense of urgency and deadline oriented.
    • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, MS Outlook, Illustrator, CAD.
