About the work
As a design leader at ShiftKey, you’ll have the opportunity to help define and drive the future of ShiftKey design. You’ll create and foster relationships within the design team and across departments including product, engineering, and marketing. You’ll help create and clarify product strategy, conceptualize UX ecosystems in ways that encourage simplicity, and inspire your team to explore and push the limits of what’s possible. You should have a clear vision of the future of user experience and a desire to inspire others to pursue forward-thinking design. Your ability to think outside the box and elevate our designers to do the same will be celebrated!
 
As a Product Design Manager we expect you to advocate for our users as well as each member of your team. You should have a desire for helping your team create elegantly simple experiences for complicated workflows.

In this role, you will:
●  Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship for a team of product designers in various stages of their career
●  Build and foster cross-functional relationships to create cohesive user experiences across ShiftKey
●  Be an advocate for ShiftKey’s culture and act as an example inside and outside of the design team
●  Be responsible for the well-being of your team in a fast-paced environment
●  Impart day-to-day design leadership that promotes a shared understanding of the strategic vision of UX
●  Encourage creative thinking within your team
●  Oversee design iterations and delivery
●  Help develop product strategy
●  Mentor, lead and support the members of your team
●  Foster an environment for your team to grow and succeed in
 
Minimum requirements for the job:
●  Experience managing a group of designers who work on complex products
●  A clear philosophy about how to successfully manage distributed design teams
●  Solid visual awareness with an understanding of design principles like typography, layout, composition, and color theory
●  Mastery of industry-standard design software (Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud)
●  Experience working with stakeholders to define the high-level strategy (the why) and create design deliverables (the how)
●  Experience driving organizational change with cross-functional stakeholders
●  Passion for creating visually pleasing and intuitive user experiences
●  Collaborative team spirit with great communication skills
