Manager - Commercial Operations
Position Summary: Catalent is seeking a Manager - Commercial Operations to support our Madison, Wisconsin Cell Line Development business. This role serves as the commercial lead for client programs, partnering closely with Business Development, Program Management, Scientific Operations, Manufacturing, and Finance to ensure successful execution of customer projects while driving operational excellence, forecasting accuracy, and business growth.
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of biologics development and client services, combined with commercial and customer-facing experience. This individual will leverage customer insights, portfolio data, and operational metrics to support strategic decision-making, capacity planning, revenue forecasting, and long-term client relationships. Working cross-functionally across technical and commercial teams, the Manager - Commercial Operations will play a key role in supporting cell line development programs that enable customers to advance innovative biologic therapies from early development toward clinical and commercial manufacturing.

The Role:
  • Serve as the primary commercial relationship manager for customer programs at Catalent Madison.

  • Partner with Business Development, Project Management, Operations, and Finance to support program execution and customer satisfaction.

  • Lead commercial discussions, contract renewals, amendments, and supply agreement negotiations.

  • Develop portfolio strategies by evaluating customer demand, forecasting, and long-term business opportunities.

  • Drive effective communication, governance, and issue resolution across internal and external stakeholders.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in science, Engineering, Business, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, CDMO, or related manufacturing environments.

  • Strong understanding of drug development, manufacturing, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.

  • Proven ability to manage customer relationships and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills & Background:
  • Advanced degree in a scientific, engineering, or business discipline.

  • Direct experience negotiating commercial contracts, development agreements, or supply agreements.

  • Knowledge of biologics development, analytical services, and commercial manufacturing operations.

  • Experience with forecasting, portfolio management, and business planning processes.

  • Background working in a customer-facing role within a CDMO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology organization.
