Job description

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist, Direct Materials to support the sourcing and procurement of a large direct materials portfolio. This position is ideal for a procurement professional who is ready to take the next step beyond transactional purchasing and develop deeper expertise in supplier management, spend analysis, process improvement, and commercial decision-making.

The role offers meaningful exposure to suppliers, manufacturing operations, commercial teams, and supply chain leadership. The successful candidate will have opportunities to influence procurement processes, improve data quality and strengthen systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage critical procure-to-pay (P2P) activities for direct materials procurement.
  • Maintain purchasing agreements, pricing records, and supplier data within SAP.
  • Monitor procurement transactions, identify discrepancies, and drive issue resolution.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for suppliers regarding pricing, invoicing, and commercial matters.
  • Analyze procurement and spend data to identify trends, opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Support supplier onboarding, material qualification, and procurement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, controls, and purchasing procedures.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement and development of procurement systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Procurement experience supporting chemical manufacturing, polymers, specialty chemicals, refining, energy, or industrial manufacturing.
